POSITION OVERVIEW

KBR is looking for an experienced and motivated Senior AWS Senior Cloud DevOps Engineer that enjoys solving problems, working with customers, and has a strong technical background. As an AWS Senior Cloud DevOps Engineer, you will be part of a team responsible for delivering new AWS projects for our customers. The ideal candidate should be a detail-oriented self-starter with independent problem-solving skills, who exhibits excellent verbal and written communication skills along with demonstrated leadership ability.

We are currently in the process of extending our IT Infrastructure capabilities to the public cloud. If you are an agile learner, have hands-on experience architecting and implementing secure, reliable & resilient hybrid-cloud solutions and able to function as part of a highly technical, cross functional team, we would like to hear from you. We are currently seeking a dedicated individual to join our team at our Sioux Falls, South Dakota location. This role is primarily on-site, allowing for the full collaboration with our customer and team. We are open to discussing some consideration for remote work as part of our employment package.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead in the evaluation, implementation, and deployment of processes & capabilities to advance hybrid-cloud strategy for KBR’s customersWork with solution architects and larger design teams to deliver full hybrid-cloud solutions in a FedRAMP high environmentDevelop and maintain systems management tools to manage hybrid-cloud infrastructure provisioning, monitoring, auditing, de-provisioning using Python, Ansible and other toolsWork closely with the Architects and Engineers to design networks, systems, and storage environment that effectively reflect business needs, security requirements, and service level requirements for KBR’s customersManage a continuous integration/continuous deployment methodology for Infrastructure technologies using industry standards such as Jenkins and GitLab RunnersWork with engineering and architecture teams to design and implement scalable software servicesLead and participate in a cross functional team environment to provide troubleshooting and support around core business applicationsAbility to work with multiple projects simultaneouslyDevelop strategic roadmaps and project implementation plans based on customer requirementsAbility to identify cost savings, security gaps, and best practices across a variety of AWS services and compliances in FedRAMP high environmentAbility to identifying and solve complex issues for our customers and present recommendations to senior leadershipAbility to deal with ambiguity and juggle multiple tasks at onceMentor and lead junior engineers

REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

AWS Professional CertificationThe ideal candidate should be a detail-oriented self-starter with independent problem-solving skills, who exhibits excellent verbal and written communication skills3-year US Residency required (see special requirements below)Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical field10+ years of experience as a Cloud Software Developer/Engineer, Systems Administrator, Network Administrator, DevOps Engineer, Security Engineer, or equivalent cloud experience5+ years of DevOps experience with CI/CD pipelines, containers, and automation4+ years in a customer facing role4+ years of experience implementing and administering cloudStrong understanding of AWS Security and Network controlsStrong experience with Terraform, CDK, or other IaC toolExperience with Ansible, Chef, Puppet, or other configuration management toolExperience with one or more scripting languages like Python, Bash/Shell, or PowerShellGeneral understanding of compliance around FedRAMPStrong technical documentation skillsProven ability to work across teamsExcellent verbal and written communication and influencing skillsAbility to manage multiple complex priorities in a dynamic environmentThe ability to work in a fast-paced team environmentStrong aptitude to learn and passion for problem solving

PREFERRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

Experience with agile techniques and methodsFamiliarity with modern Software Engineering principlesExperience engineering and deploying public sector solutionsExpert experience with AWS services in following list: S3, CloudFront, EKS, Lambda, Aurora Serverless DB, AWS Batch

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Three years of continuous residency in the US for issuance of a Government Security credentialThe candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a national agency check and background investigation after hire to obtain a badge for government facility access and user accounts.
