Job Summary

As an engineer, you'll play a crucial role in leveraging core platforms and technologies to support our business. You'll handle the analysis, development, and support of servers, storage, virtualization, and networking solutions. Your work will involve creating and supporting new services, enhancing functionality, integrating systems, and maintaining operational oversight to drive our business forward.

This job requires 4 days onsite each week at various locations, including Allen, TX; Laredo, TX; Easton, MD; Preston, MD; Chantilly, VA; Indianapolis, IN; Fayetteville, AR; Toledo, OH; Pittsburgh, PA; Atlanta, GA; and Oak Brook, IL.

Essential Job Functions

Design, deploy, and manage Azure cloud environments for our applications and services. Implement and maintain security best practices, including identity and access management, network security, and data protection. Monitor and optimize Azure infrastructure for performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness. Boost operational efficiency through automation, daily administrative tasks, and monthly maintenance. Collaborate with IT teams, such as Security, Development, IDAM, Network, MSP, DevOps, and contractors. Perform root cause analysis for service disruptions and implement preventive measures. Create, enhance, and maintain documentation for continuous improvement. Develop project sustainment mechanisms including reports, auditing capabilities, or necessary process changes. Report on KPIs and metrics weekly or monthly to enhance system efficiency and reliability. Prioritize issues and collaborate with multiple teams for quick resolution. Follow ITSM processes for change management and incident response using Jira and Ivanti. Participate in on-call rotation and support production incidents and emergencies. Maintain the highest level of customer satisfaction across the company.

Required Skills

Proven experience as a Cloud Engineer with a focus on Azure, including design, implementation, and management. Strong proficiency in Azure services like Virtual Machines, Azure SQL DB, App Services, AKS, Functions, and Storage. Hands-on experience with Azure networking concepts, including Virtual Networks, VPNs, API Gateways, Express Route, and Azure FW. Proficiency in scripting and automation using PowerShell, Azure CLI, Terraform, etc. Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Security Center. Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools like Azure DevOps, Git, Jenkins, and Docker.

Preferred Skills

Experience or knowledge of other cloud platforms such as AWS and GCP is a plus. Familiarity with Ansible, OpenShift, Kubernetes, etc. Azure Certifications such as AZ-900, AZ-104, AZ-204, or AZ-303/304.

Minimum Qualifications

College degree in Computer Science or related field, and/or relevant industry certifications or equivalent experience. 7+ years of direct technical IT experience. 7+ years of strong planning and organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple work streams simultaneously.
