Your Role:

Tenable is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join our Identity Security platform team. In this role, you'll be instrumental in building and scaling our identity security solutions that help organizations worldwide secure their digital assets.

The Technology You'll Work With

Primary: Kotlin, SQL (Snowflake, MSSQL, PostgreSQL)

Supporting: Apache Kafka, DynamoDB, S3, C#, NodeJS

Infrastructure: AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, Jenkins, Azure

Your Opportunity:

Design and implement high-performance, scalable backend services in KotlinDevelop and optimize SQL workflows to manage high data volumeBuild robust data processing pipelines for identity and access management dataCreate efficient APIs that power our security analytics engineCollaborate on database design and optimizationWrite comprehensive unit and integration testsParticipate in code reviews and architectural discussionsManage and secure digital identities across cloud platformsDetect and remediate security vulnerabilitiesAnalyze and optimize access patternsEnsure compliance with security standardsEvent-driven architecture using Kafka and APIs for real-time data processingContainer-based deployment using KubernetesAutomated testing and deployment pipelinesContinuous Development powered by feature flagsFocus on observability and monitoring

What You'll Need:

Successful experience in backend developmentStrong proficiency in Kotlin or similar object oriented language.Professional-level SQL knowledge and experience with relational databases at scaleExperience building RESTful APIs and microservicesSolid understanding of concurrent and distributed systems

And Ideally:

Contributions to open-source projectsExperience with multi-tenant cloud-native developmentDatabase performance tuning experienceFamiliarity with Kubernetes and container orchestrationPrevious experience in cybersecurity or identity management
