About the role

Demonstrates proficient skills and knowledge in the general application of Engineering inspection and technical  documentation  fundamentals.

Experience and proficiency in reading and interpreting technical documents, manuals and mechanical drawings, OEM and non OEM-drawings, diagrams and layouts to insure correct fabrication and installation.

5+ years of overall boiler engineering experience in a highly industrial environment, preferably in a power generation or similar utility based environment.

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering. Equivalent experience in boiler operation, inspection, maintenance and project management may be considered

Ability understand and assess technical conditions of full units (boilers, air pollution control units, baghouse and associated ductwork, etc.)
Demonstrated ability to read and interpret technical documents, manuals and mechanical drawings.

Ability to develop technical specifications and evaluations for use by both facility management and affiliated functions (maintenance, procurement, etc.)

Ability to provide subject matter expertise in continuous improvement activities as well as on project teams.

Demomstrated proficiency in Micrsoft Office - specifically in creating spreadsheets with modeling / pivot tables and associated data analysis

Proficiency in design software highly preferred (AutoCad, etc.)

Exposure to condition assessment reporting software is preferred, but not necessary

Ability to effectively communicate a variety of technical information and recommendations across all levels of the organization both in office and in the field.

Expertise in technical writing and reporting.

Anticipates needs and leads efforts to solve unique or complex technical problems.  

Provides sound analysis and data collection for RCA

Conducts trend analysis, identifies chronic problems and promotes solutions to the technology needs.  

Introduces innovative solutions for future opportunities.

Provides technical leadership and training in area of responsibility.

Potential to mentor junior technical employees in areas of expertise.

Promotes positive and productive work environment 

Engages successfully with other departments outside of their discipline

Understands and aligns themselves to core values through transparent accountability

Recognizes others for their contributions and actively promotes to leadership
