Be our next Senior Bridge Design Engineer - Steel
Your work environment at EXP
In this role you will be a part of the Coral Gables office to support EXP’s transportation infrastructure practice.. The selected candidate will focus on highway and railway related structures and bridges. Project types will be diverse and include, but not be limited to, new structures, rehabilitation of existing structures, and inspections and load rating of existing structures including bridges, culverts, retaining walls and transit/railway facilities.
What a day at EXP has in store for you
Lead the design and analysis of steel bridge structures; Lead the planning and schematic/geometric layout design of new structures; Perform analysis and design calculations according to the applicable design codes; use computer programs as appropriate; Conduct load rating analysis for bridges; Prepare plan drawings and details, construction specifications and design calculations; Conduct on-site inspection, analysis and condition assessment of existing structures; Perform Construction and Life Cycle Cost estimates; Construction phase engineering support including reviews of shop drawings and requests for information; Assist project managers with scoping and budgeting for structural work and be responsible for quality assurance of deliverables. Serve as Project Manager for projects that primarily involve bridges
What your experience looks like
MS in Civil Engineering – Structures track required 20+ years progressively responsible relevant experience Licensed PE, SE preferred FDOT Design and/or Construction Engineering experience required Minimum 5 years experience in complex steel bridges Meets FDOT prequalification requirements for 4.3.2 Complex Bridge Design – Steel Bridge inspection training/certificate preferred Knowledge AASHTO and bridge analysis, design and detailing Knowledge of structural analysis software including SAP-CSI, AASHTOWare BRD and BrR, LARSA 4D or similar Proficient with Bentley’s MicroStation® and AutoCAD Open Bridge and Revit experience beneficial Parametric Modeling experience beneficial Excellent verbal and written communication skills Excellent organizational skills and ability to direct and supervise staff engineers and technicians Strong project management skills and the ability to work in a team environment
