Responsibilities include financial analysis, budget preparation and administration, management studies, and substantial interaction with internal stakeholders including conducting trainings on software used in the budgeting process. This position will also conduct a variety of analytical studies relating to MSD revenue sources and monitor revenue trends. Performs related duties as required. Minimum Qualifications (KSAs) (Illustrative only. Knowledge of: Standard English, grammar, and usage; standard correspondence and report formats. Use of computers in performance of assigned duties; use of related software. Principles and practices of cash management, investment, economic analysis, and modern portfolio theory Skill to: Operate a computer and other standard office equipment in performance of assigned duties. Use software such as spreadsheets, word processing, graphical presentation, and statistical analysis. Operate assigned vehicle in performance of job duties (as required). Ability to: Assign, direct, and evaluate the work of and supervise subordinate staff. Process complex information while maintaining attention to detail. Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. Prioritize work; manage time to meet deadlines. Make decisions based on data analysis and observation. Required Education and Experience PROMOTIONAL: Each applicant must have three years of experience as a Management Analyst with the City of Cincinnati. Additionally, each applicant must have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Finance, Business Administration, Public Administration, Economics, or a closely related field. A master’s degree in one of the above fields or certifications as a Chartered Financial Analyst or Certified Cash Manager is preferred. Previous management-level professional experience in budget/finance may be substituted for one year of experience. Retirement Plan The City provides a defined benefit pension plan for part-time and full-timeemployees. New hires and re-hired employees are required to participate in the City of Cincinnati's Retirement System (CRS), regardless of previous participation in an Ohio State pension system or any another state or federal pension system. CRS is funded by employer and employee contributions, and investment returns from plan assets. CRS provides retirement and health care benefits subject to eligibility requirements.
