Raba Kistner is seeking an organized, dependable Senior Building Envelope Consultant to join our Building Sciences team in the greater San Antonio and Austin area. The Senior Building Envelope Consultant will be expected to support the Raba-Kistner Building Envelope Observation, Assessment, Design and Consulting capabilities in the Central Texas (San Antonio and Austin) Region. This individual will be responsible for expanding our market and technical knowledge base with respect to Building Envelope related services in support of our Building Sciences projects. The Senior Building Envelope Consultant will also be responsible for direct and indirect marketing of our services to property developers, public and private sector owners, institutional entities, consulting engineers, contractors, materials suppliers, financial institutions and insurance agencies.  Responsibilities include: 

Serve as a Project Manager and/or Senior Professional on Building Sciences work with emphasis on roofing and waterproofing consulting services. Provide mentorship and professional development to other professional, technical, clerical and support staff.Participate in monitoring our professional practice, including QA/QC protocols, to insure it is in substantial compliance with generally accepted practice.Prepare or assist in proposal submittals.Review and approves prebilling invoices and participate with Direct Report in collection of past due invoices.Approve and direct project purchases as required.Within a six-month period, achieve average chargeability goal of not less than 85 percent.Assist and support Direct Report in workload, financial forecasting, and planning.   Plan and effectively utilize managerial skills to advance the department’s profitability and the effectiveness of the facilities engineering staff.Assist the company in expanding the scope and technological level of services within the Building Sciences field currently provided by Raba Kistner.Provide a leadership role in expanding our professional practice in the Central Texas market. Work with the Direct Report and Corporate Development in coordinating regional office business development programs.Notify Direct Report and Chairman of the Board of all potential disputes that may lead to legal claims or litigation.Support Chairman of the Board, as requested, to settle disputes or defend against litigation.Understand, adhere, and participate in the Raba Kistner Health & Safety and BBS Programs, setting a good example of our safety standards. Perform other duties as assigned.

 Qualifications

Must have High School Diploma or General Educational Development (G.E.D.) Minimum 10 years of building envelope observations, assessments, design, and contract administration required. Registered Roofing Consultant (RRC) or Registered Waterproofing Consultant (RWC) designation preferred, but not a requirement. Possess valid Texas driver’s license and meet company’s auto insurability requirements.

Good oral and written communications skills and ability to work in teams at different levels within the organization. Possess good comprehension skills to prevent costly and time-consuming problems. Advanced in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook). Must be self-motivated with good attendance record and be able to work independently.

Able to distinguish colors and shades of color for identification and analysis. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate (business office with computers/printers, light traffic, etc.) or loud (outside and subject to weather conditions).

Potential exposure to movement of heavy equipment on construction sites and hazards of dangerous chemical/solvents exposure that may require proper safety procedures be followed. Exposed to noise, dust, fumes, grease and oils, radiant and electrical energy, and vibration.

This position may require protracted or irregular hours. Flexibility to work irregular hours is necessary due to client needs. Work related responsibilities require travel out of town to Raba-Kistner offices, client offices, and project locations. Ability to travel to project sites and maneuver over rough and uneven terrain.
