Job Overview

The Sr. Business Administrator will be responsible for the finances of Natural Sciences Hub #1 within the college of Arts & Sciences.  Hub #1 includes Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. Reporting up through the Business Office of the college, the Sr. Business Administrator will also have a reporting line to the Divisional Dean and accountability to the Department Heads of the Division. In this critical role, the Sr. Business Administrator will partner with the Divisional Dean and Department Heads on the financial strategy to grow the academic departments of the division. Overseeing all financial matters and staff, the Sr. Business Administrator will partner closely with the Academic side of the house guiding all financial matters. 
This is an in-person role, with the possibility of transitioning to a hybrid work arrangement at a later date.

Essential Functions Partners with the Business Office & Divisional Dean on the yearly budget. Oversees a large, complex budget and is accountable for all spend in adherence with budget.  Oversees a high volume of grants and ensures spend is in line with the grant’s procedures. Oversees all financial processes and leads team to deliver on-time and quality results. Leads the team on any continuous process improvement initiatives for the Division.   Oversees processes set by the College Business Office &/or Central UC and coordinates with team members to ensure adherence. Partners with Department Heads and Divisional Dean on all purchasing priorities and makes recommendations for major capital expenditures.  Oversees the HR process for the Division including all hiring spend, time and attendance, payroll, and immigration process. Responsible for team development, performance management, and resolving any team conflicts.

 

This role operates as part of team. Assigned responsibilities are subject to change at the discretion of management and the needs of the team, business unit or division. 

Required Education Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related field Nine (9) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement Required Experience

Five (5) years of financial and administrative experience, including three (3) years of supervisory experience

Additional Qualifications Considered

Three (3) years of financial experience within a Higher Ed setting, including one (1) year of previous supervisory experience.
