ROLE DESCRIPTION

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and self-motivated Business Analyst who will analyse complex business problems to be solved with processes and applications for one of our high-profile public sector customers. You will lead, manage and support work empowering our customer to establish, and deliver, their vision and value, by joining a capability which offers extensive business analytics experience, business strategic and operations planning capability, change acculturalisation expertise and business transformation knowledge.

This position is a full time, permanent role and applicants must have (or be able to acquire) SC clearance, which Leidos will sponsor you through.  Ad-hoc travel may be required to various customer and Leidos sites.

THE ROLE YOU WILL PLAY

You will report to the Project Manager/Programme Lead and will be responsible for delivering programme commitments. 

Key responsibilities:

Establish an understanding of key business processes, their architectural components and associated operating proceduresLead reviews and define target business/operating models and their componentsIdentify stakeholders and analyse their perspectives and needsElicit, analyse, define and document business requirementsEvaluate, analyse and support business change impactsUndertake large and complex data analytical activity as well as help to form data management strategiesAssist in establishing strategic vision and strategic journeys of businessesWork closely with the Product Owner to understand the business drivers and desired outcomes, and ensure proposed solutions and prototypes are produced in line with theseHelp to translate the designs into stories for the developersSupport User Acceptance Testing activities, by helping to define test scenarios and assisting management of testing and trainingHelp recommend and design modelling and testing approaches / methodologiesDrive continuous improvement initiatives

PROFILE

Required Skills

Knowledge of human/user-centered design frameworks and processesAbility to identify and present actionable research insights to business stakeholdersRequirements Elicitation, the ability to work with Subject Matter Experts to capture business requirements alongside an Agile system development projectBusiness process modelling (with ability to use a conventional modelling notation, e.g. UML)Experience of working in multiple work streams in complex Agile environmentsExperience of running requirement elicitation workshops and generating user story documentationThe ability to work collaboratively with internal teams to shape user stories and acceptance criteriaThe ability to facilitate effective process design workshops to define detailed, complete and agreed processesThe ability to identify significant gaps between as is and to be processes and business architectures and understand the steps required to move to the target stateExperience of producing personas, journey maps, user stories and pain point analysisExcellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work both independently and as part of a teamHigh standards of communication (written and verbal)Proficiency in MS Visio and strong skills in Excel, Word, PowerPointSelf-starting, enthusiastic, keenness to learn, develop and contribute to the success of the programme

Desired Skills and Experience:

Lean Six Sigma Yellow or Green beltAgile Scrum MasterITIL 4 FoundationStatistical systems such as Origin, MatlabData and Analytics knowledge would be advantageousReporting and Dashboarding knowledge would be advantageousExperience of working within a large-scale and complex integration programmeExperience of ITIL/Service Management methodologiesExperience of working with partner organisation and 3rd party suppliers
