Job Summary

The Finance Analytics & Transformations team is a dynamic and integral part of Finance. Our mission is to collaborate closely with functional and technical stakeholders across the company, driving key initiatives that enhance and scale our business processes to enable analytics. We are seeking a highly motivated, driven  Senior Business Analyst to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for building and optimizing datasets, pipelines, and architectures. You will interact with other teams, including marketing, channel operations, sales operations, deal desk, and business systems, to form a data-driven culture in the Finance organization leveraging metrics and KPIs and strategic analysis on company performance and trends. The role requires the following capabilities: excellent communication skills, especially the ability to respectfully challenge and influence; strong problem-solving/analytical skills, strong data management skills, and business acumen.

Responsibilities

Partner with non-technical teams within the finance organization to identify critical analytical problems and find innovative solutions with data

Develop end-to-end reporting process to empower stakeholders with dashboards and tools

Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements including re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, optimizing data delivery, and automating manual processes

Build required infrastructure for optimal extraction, transformation and loading of data from various data sources using AWS and SQL technologies

Support 8x8’s Finance organization with reporting, dashboards, metrics, KPIs

Own data pipeline, data architecture, reporting, and KPI automation

Conduct statistical analysis, modeling, and metric development to discover insights for better decision-making

Deliver monthly/quarterly quantitative and qualitative analysis of the business' financial results including variances to plan, ensuring key issues, risks, and business drivers are understood and highlighted

Meet deliverables and requests from business partners, corporate FP&A, accounting, and other cross-functional teams

Fulfill ad-hoc and regular requests to drive high corporate performance and to assist with executive decision-making

Develop a deep understanding of the finance organization landscape and partner with finance leaders to align business and financial goals

Provide business consulting projects that involve strategy development, organizational restructuring, and management improvement to maximize efficiencies.

Work with senior management of companies to determine long-term data strategies by analyzing our business process and data pipeline with recommendations for changes and improvements

Work on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors

Comfortable in business and technical discussions

Qualifications

A background in statistics, math, data science, finance or a similar quantitative field with strong analytical skills

4+ years of relevant experience in data analytics and business intelligence

Excellent at translating raw data sources into analytics-ready data set to serve business needs

Expertise in SQL programming skills and proficiency with designing ETL flows

Expertise in Excel, Tableau, Looker, PowerBI,  Salesforce.com reporting

Experience with Cloud-based DW such as Redshift, Snowflake, etc.

Experience writing data transformations/logic via Python

Well-rounded, strong communicator, analytical and creative problem solver with the ability to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional matrix organization with competing priorities

Experienced with developing data tools, memos, and presentations to deliver key data insights to stakeholders

Self-starter work ethic

The compensation range reflects the Company’s good faith belief at the time of posting. 8x8 has different base pay ranges for different work locations within the United States, which allows us to pay employees competitively and consistently in different geographic markets. The range above reflects the potential base pay across the U.S. for this role; the applicable base pay range will depend on what ultimately is determined to be the candidate’s primary work location. Further, individual base pay depends on various factors, in addition to primary work location, such as complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience, knowledge, success, education and skills. Base pay ranges are reviewed and typically updated each year. Offers are made within the base pay range applicable at the time. Certain roles are eligible for additional rewards, including discretionary merit increases, bonus and/or stock. Certain roles have the opportunity to earn sales variable compensation incentives based on the terms of the plan and the employee’s role.
