PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Partner with business teams and IT to design and maintain the campus operations data models to support campus-based data strategy and objectives.  Creates and maintains the data warehouse/data mart data models applying appropriate BI standards and design paradigms.   

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:   

Translates business requirements into specifications that will be used to implement the required reports and extracts, created from potentially multiple data sources. Develop and deploy reports that meet system clinical and operational needs using available analytics platforms (i.e. Tableau, PowerChart analytics, Alteryx, etc.)Transform raw data into business information that will help inform decision making.Identify, design, and/or recommend resources and analytical methods to support performance improvement activities to meet system goals/needs (i.e. dashboards incorporating clinical and business metrics tailored to strategic or operational goals)Develop dashboards and scorecards using advanced visualization techniques and data capabilities such as embedding analytics in clinical and business process tools or designing dashboards tailored to strategic goals.Interpret and present findings to system leaders and key stakeholders clearly, consistently, and appropriately.Translates business requirements into specifications that will be used to implement the required reports and extracts, created from potentially multiple data sources. Analyze business requirements to produce relevant data architecture deliverables (data models, data dictionary, source analysis, source to target maps design for reports, interfaces and functional dashboards or other outputs).Resolves problems, makes effective modifications, and provides ongoing support to production systems.  Maintain clear documentation and evaluation of workUse enterprise data warehousing best practices for consolidation and integration of a large volume of data from multiple sources.  Provides in-depth level troubleshooting and advanced problem determination to ensure data qualityMaintain the campus specific data warehouse tables including all technical components and ensuring appropriate access and standards are in place to ensure data integrity and security.Maintain effective end user and IT relationships to provide a climate receptive to systems improvement and to enhance understanding of the user’s business concerns.  Participate on project teams, assisting to leverage the enterprise data warehouse and data sources.Attend meetings, in-service/educational programs, and other activities as needed to foster professional growthMaintain confidentiality of patient/members and staff information; be compliant with HIPAA regulations and Christiana Care Data Governance requirements.Perform assignments that need to be completed, even when outside the scope of routine responsibilities, and be adaptable to changing departmental conditions and priorities as defined by health system operations.Perform assigned work safely, adhering to established departmental safety rules and practices; report to supervisor, in a timely manner, any unsafe activities, conditions, hazards, or safety violations that may cause injury to oneself, other employees, patients and visitors

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in Information Technology with a minimum of three years’ experience in Data Warehousing.Experience with RDBMS tools and working with clinical databases preferred.Expertise in abstracting clinical data from electronic medical records and systems preferred.An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.
