Role description:
Arcadis is looking to hire Senior Buyer, Technology Procurement who will serve as a category manager for the Global Technology Procurement Team. To identify suppliers and strategic partners which align with Tech’s strategic objectives, managing competitive bids, negotiating, and awarding contracts, resolving supplier and contract issues, ensuring adherence to Procurement Policy, creating, and driving savings and other incentives and any other procurement activity required to support the business
The Senior Buyer, Technology Procurement reports directly to the Global Director, Technology Procurement.
Role accountabilities:
Lead global projects from bid strategy formulation, creating, and managing the RFP process, recommendation of vendor selection, to final contract negotiation. Developing negotiation strategies and gaining stakeholder buy in Partner with the Tech Leadership Team, legal, global Information security and data privacy to create and drive strategy Ensure adherence to Procurement policies, procedures, and systems to ensure a uniform method of work approaches that delivers exceptional performance values for Arcadis and its clients. Reports directly to the Global Director – Technology Procurement. Manage spend in IT categories including software, hardware, and services. Effectively execute the Global Technology Officer’s strategic vision Communicate and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholder groups to advocate best in class procurement practices. Ensure adherence to procurement policies, procedures and systems to ensure a uniformed method of work. Work independently and consistently in a fast- paced environment with a demonstrated ability to meet goals and deadlines.
Key shared accountabilities:
Technology Procurement is responsible for all technology product and service 3rd party expenditures across the Arcadis global enterprise. Strategic Tech activities—i.e. business partnering and category management—fall within remit of Tech Procurement. With the end goal being 100% Tech spend accountability. Tactical activities sit within GSSC. Tech category managers are often required to provide guidance and mentorship to GSSC. Tech Procurement Business Partner roles generally sit on the Technology Leadership Team. Category managers will be required to partner with the Global Technology Officer and his direct reports. Each Tech Category (i.e. Software, Professional Services, Security, Telecommunications, Hardware, Etc…) should have a dedicated procurement partner or manager assigned to manage it. All Tech Procurement partners and managers will be assigned to a Technology Leadership Team member to partner on strategy development and spend management.
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelors or master’s degree in business, Finance, IT, or equivalent experience. Significant experience in procurement working for a large global organization, with demonstrated experience in indirect procurement. The ability to independently problem solve and create solutions for complex contractual challenges Strategic thinker with the ability to contribute ideas and perspective to procurement and Tech leaders Tech procurement experience strongly preferred across multiple categories such as hardware, software, and IT services. A thorough knowledge and understanding of procurement concepts, principles, and practices. Confidence to lead multi-million dollar negotiations Knowledge of relevant ERP systems. We offer nine paid holidays and 20 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $120,000 - $130,000. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
