Senior Buyer – Construction

If you are a talented and experienced Senior Buyer - Construction, Aplin has the right opportunity for you! Our Richmond, BC client is looking to grow their team! This is an office-based role but also provides for a flexible work arrangement, combining office and remote options!
Key Responsibilities:Develop, evaluate, and execute contract strategies to achieve best value procurement for the organization.Perform business intelligence analysis to guide and support business units for strategic and tactical procurement initiatives.Build and manage successful relationships with vendors and support vendor performance management.Source and procure goods and services using a competitive process including preparing RFX documents and administrating the entire procurement process through an online bidding platform (Bonfire)Negotiate with vendors and prepare various agreements using template documentsWork with client groups as well as supporting business units such as finance, legal, and operations to drive the procurement process.Key Qualifications:Over 8 years of recent experience in procurement in a fast-paced and complex environment, supplemented by a bachelor’s degree in business, commerce, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.A professional designation in Supply Chain Management (SCMP) is an asset.Strong knowledge and experience in industrial, construction, engineering, mechanical, or maintenance environments is preferred.Strong business and financial acumen.Highly skilled at building and managing relationships with internal/external stakeholders.Excellent communication and leadership skills in managing cross-functional teams and projects.
