Exciting opportunity for a Senior Buyer in Spring Grove, PA.

Job Description:
The primary goal of the Senior Buyer position is to provide a competitive advantage to the company by integrating the process of managing the Capital and Contracted Services spend. The Senior Buyer will be responsible for managing the supplier relationships and contract administration for Capital and Contracted Services at the facility.  They will be responsible for leading cross-functional teams for the sourcing events, develop value added relationships with our incumbent suppliers and administer agreements so that value is realized with our suppliers beyond unit costs. They create a competitive sourcing environment through the introduction and qualification of new and existing suppliers that create value and meet our business objectives. There is also responsibility for developing and implementing best practices to improve overall services spend and value. These best practices should be focused on cost management, service level analysis, consolidation and overall supplier value and effectiveness.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Lead the development and implementation of strategic sourcing “best practices” for Indirect Supplies spend including capital equipment and contracted services.   Understand business requirements and Industry trends to ensure contracts are value adding and drive continuous improvement to the business. Coordination of supplier business reviews and administration of supplier agreements. Development of supplier evaluation metrics to measure the supplier performance and value. Negotiation of agreements and contracts to ensure security of supply, provide pricing protection and cost improvement, and ensure product quality, service, and responsiveness. Maintain competitive supply environment for capital equipment and contracted services to drive savings and continuous improvement. Work with Operations in the development of detailed specifications and work scope for supplies to be competitively bid. Gain an understanding of where the materials are being used and applications, and work with operations and suppliers to identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and reduce overall costs. Strong Procurement acumen for supplier relationship management, understanding of National contracts and ability to communicate with legal to develop/revise National contracts to mutually agreeable results. Interaction and networking with Operations, Legal, HR, Finance from an operational level to Senior Leadership. Maintain compliance with Procurement process, procedures and policies including ISO procedures. Facilitate information exchange between suppliers and company personnel. Other duties as assigned by the Procurement Manager.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from a 4-Year College or University; Master’s degree preferred. No less than 7-10 years experience in Indirect or Direct materials sourcing or other Procurement related experience. CPM or other Supply Chain certification preferred. Paper Industry or other heavy industry experience is preferred. Effective Negotiation skills. Ability to understand and interpret legal and commercial terms and condition documents. Experience with execution of strategic procurement sourcing processes. Organizational networking capability and influential management skills. Demonstrated ability to lead and actively engage in cross-functional teams. Ability to prioritize and plan work independently. Effective communication, written and verbal skills. Understanding of Financial Analysis; Business acumen.
