Our Research Associates are focused on the product development of diagnostic assays, to include reagents, calibrators, controls, calibration verifiers and proficiency testing. Compensation range for this role is $73,100.00 - 135,900.00 + bonus program and benefits package. **Position Summary:** Carry out sourcing and supplier management activities in the acquisition of direct and indirect goods and services. Perform a variety of complicated tasks as needed. Ensure compliance to procedures. Maintain ongoing communications with suppliers and internal customers. **Duties and Responsibilities:** + Purchase raw materials, lab supplies, scientific equipment and services, office/business supplies based on planned usage and inventory requirements. + Ability to work very well under pressure, excellent written / verbal communication skills and high standard of accuracy. + Identifies, evaluates, and negotiates with suppliers that offers competitive advantage to eh organization. + Evaluates vendor reliability; develops new supply sources as required. + Coordinates purchasing activities with other departments to maintain inventory and supplies at approved and agreed planned levels. + Coordinate with internal team and vendors on expediting orders as necessary to ensure timely delivery. Identify actual and potential delivery issues and disseminate information to internal customers. Coordinate the disposition of defective or unacceptable goods and make appropriate corrective measures. + Work closely with stakeholders to ensure objectives and key requirements are understood and aligned with Purchasing strategies. + Actively pursues cost savings opportunities and reports PPV to costing. + Monitor inventory of raw materials by utilizing the min/max, re-order, and other relative reports on regular cadence. Updating as necessary to ensure approved inventory levels. + BPO processing and management. + Works with planning to forecast demand using multiple metrics, including finished goods, forecasts, and consumption rate history to determine appropriate inventory levels of raw materials. + Works closely with Project Managers and assists with acquiring materials for new customers. **Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:** + Able to comply with policies, procedures and objectives, and safety standards. + Self-starter able to work with minimal supervision. + Strong attention to detail, organizational, written, and oral communication skills. + The ability to multi-task in a fast paced, changing environment and work well as part of a team. + Must be able to build collaborative relationships with stakeholders + Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office Skills, most critically Excel. + Knowledge or experience of FDA Quality System Requirements, cGMP and ISO Standards. + Experience in reagents, chemicals and related laboratory products purchasing. + Knowledge of different types of Units of Measures and its conversions + Must be able to communicate with all levels of the organization. + Effective negotiation skills. + Ability to analyze trends and statistical data and make appropriate decisions and recommendations. + Knowledge of the metric measurement and good mathematical ability + Direct to manufacturer, OEM and custom product purchasing experience as well as Chemical and Biologicals, printed materials, such as boxes, labels, inserts, plastics and glass materials. **Minimum Job Requirements:** 2-5 years purchasing experience. AA degree or some college preferred.
