Senior Buyer
Job Title: Senior Buyer Job Description The Sr. Buyer manages the systemic supply plan for the portfolio of externally manufactured finished products. This role is responsible for maintaining data integrity of static planning parameters and transactional data elements to ensure that the system accurately reflects the current situation in the physical supply chain at all times. The Sr. Buyer will work closely with Supply Chain Manager and EO/IO Planning Analysts to monitor and manage suppliers’ plan attainment, as well as Supplier performance and coordinating priorities. Planning, preparing, and executing Purchase and Distribution Orders or inventory purchased/transferred from multiple internal & external suppliers is a critical part of this role. Additionally, managing inventory in line with Days Inventory Outstanding (DIO) and Latest Estimate Forecasts (LEF) is essential. Responsibilities + Purchase Order Management: + Supplier Management: + Purchasing Strategy: + Cost Analysis: + Compliance and Quality Assurance: + Inventory Management: + Market Research: + Cross-Functional Collaboration: + Reporting and Metrics: Essential Skills + 2+ years working as a Buyer/Planner in Manufacturing, preferably for a Medical Device company + ERP experience, preferably Epicor, Oracle, or SAP + Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain or Business + Experience working with Purchase Orders (POs) and PO Maintenance + Experience working with a large quantity of SKUs or parts (preferably in the thousands) as well as vendors (100+ vendors) + Basic understanding of demand planning + Strong negotiation skills + Experience with Supplier Relationship Management + Experience dealing with quality issues on parts + Understanding of MRP signals Additional Skills & Qualifications + Working knowledge of planning/purchasing control systems (ERP) and processes + Ability to work independently with a strong sense of urgency + Clear and concise communication skills across all levels of the company and a global supply chain organization + Proven experience in a production environment + Knowledge of material flow, requirements planning, and job router creation/execution + Strong analytical and problem-solving skills + Excellent organizational and time management skills + Effective communication skills + Ability to communicate effectively to achieve alignment through open discussions, productive conflict, and collaboration + Confident, quick decision-maker with a positive attitude + Strong collaborative and influencing skills and ability to work well in a cross-functional environment + Willingness to learn and seek improvement + Experience with ERP systems; EPICOR and SAP ERP system a plus + Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications + Well-developed knowledge of planning principles and practices + Ability to deal with complexity and manage relationships across a diverse range of stakeholders + Flexible and able to adapt to company growth and evolving responsibilities + Ability to interface effectively with peer groups and work collaboratively to achieve company goals + Ability to work autonomously in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced environment + A passion for continuous improvement + Detail-oriented, organized, and demonstrates a high sense of urgency Work Environment The company offers a very nice and clean office environment with a friendly staff. This is a one-year contract-to-hire position with the possibility of becoming permanent based on performance. The dress code is business casual. This role is fully onsite with hours from Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with some flexibility on start and stop times. The person will work with a team of about five other people. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $43.00 - $48.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
