Senior Buyer
Job Title: Sr Buyer Job Description Manage value and mitigate risk for commodities such as copper, gold, oil, and off-the-shelf stock items while running an effective sourcing campaign. Utilize a systematic and analytical approach to measure the usage cycle for specific groups of items. Key benchmarks include reducing stockouts, increasing blanket orders with scheduled JIT deliveries at lower negotiated prices. Review purchasing patterns and market forces, liaise with suppliers to ensure supply chain stability, and track and report KPIs to the Director of Purchasing. Support and enforce the Corrective Action process and issue CARs as necessary to support process improvement. Responsibilities + Manage value and mitigate risk for commodities including copper, gold, oil, and off-the-shelf stock items. + Run effective sourcing campaigns. + Use a systematic and analytical approach to measure the usage cycle for specific groups of items. + Reduce stock outs and increase blanket orders with scheduled JIT deliveries at lower negotiated prices. + Review purchasing patterns and ascertain market forces affecting commodities. + Liaise with suppliers to ensure a stable supply chain. + Track and report KPIs to the Director of Purchasing, including Inventory $’s On Hand vs On Order/Incoming PO’s, PPV, Meet Comp Wins/Losses, and Inbound Freight Analysis. + Support and enforce the Corrective Action process and issue CARs to support process improvement. + Perform all other duties as assigned. Essential Skills + Purchasing + ERP + Negotiation + Purchase order management + Proficiency in MS Excel + Ability to develop technical, statistical, and fundamental assessments for each commodity Additional Skills & Qualifications + 8+ years of experience in a related role, including electronics manufacturing experience and ordering commodities. + Bachelor’s degree preferred. + Extremely proficient in measuring data related to Supplier Performance. + Strong understanding of terms, supply strategy, KanBan, VMI, Safety Stock, etc. + Organized, open-minded, and motivated self-starter. + Expert communication skills to support interactions with suppliers and a multi-layered workforce. + Ability to report findings and KPIs to the Purchasing Manager. Work Environment Fully onsite M-F with a flexible work schedule start time 7-4 or 8-5 pm. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $55.00/hr.
