Job Summary
This position will have responsible for maintaining existing byproducts (ash and/or gypsum) reuse / sale markets. This position will have responsible for developing, negotiating and managing the byproducts (ash and/or gypsum) strategies, studies, reuse / sale contracts, customer relationships, and tracking to ensure success, in order to meet the CCPs annual utilization goals. This position is expected to have good knowledge and understanding of byproducts and commercial markets.
Employees at this level can solve complex problems, in areas of specialization, with minimal supervision. Incumbents are expected to develop skills and the ability to work with greater independence. They effectively apply fundamental concepts and procedures to work that is fairly complex and varied.
Responsibilities
+ Collaborate closely with station and engineering to provide assistance to the support the operating parameters / requirements for byproducts commercial recommendations as necessary to produce and maximize byproducts sales resulting from knowledge of operations.
+ Supports the development and issue of byproducts and transportation requests for proposals (RFPs) as well as the evaluation of unsolicited proposals as necessary to support and meet the station's beneficial reuse needs and plans.
+ Develop, negotiate and manage byproducts sale contracts and follows them to completion, with support from other Senior Byproducts Marketers and Management
+ Develops and monitors the byproducts strategies, position reports, and short and long-term term recommendations to maximize sales and transportation needs.
+ Provides Project Management direction on projects that support commodity sales/procurement and structural fill projects
+ Develop and manage external business relationships in sound, ethical and professional manner and in the best interests of Duke
+ Make site visits to commodity end-user sales facilities, transportation carriers, generating stations, and professional symposiums.
+ Supports the enforcement of contract terms through direct management of marketers - resolve contract disputes with support from Lead Byproducts Marketers and Management
+ Monitors and understands changing legislative and permitting challenges and develop sales / procurement strategies to support
+ Support regulatory process for ensuring cost recovery and revenue reporting through fuel clause proceedings
Required Qualifications
+ Bachelors degree in Business, Engineering or Science
+ In addition to required degree, 5 years related work experience
Desired Qualifications
+ Masters degree in Business Administration
Additional Preferred Qualifications
+ Broad experience in commercial roles and commodity / transportation markets. Has the ability and the experience to develop, negotiate and finalize complex commercial agreements.
+ Knowledge of power plant operations and ability to assess commercial impacts on generation.
+ Understand and maintain a thorough understanding of commercial byproducts experience
+ Effective communication and presentation skills to convey needs to plant site personnel as well as communicate goals and performance to management.
+ Project Management experience on major projects
Working Conditions
+ Hybrid Mobility Classification – Work will be performed from both remote and onsite locations after the onboarding period. However, hybrid employees should live within a reasonable daily commute to a Duke Energy facility.
