The Senior Designer is responsible for quotation, design, release, and maintenance of mechanical and electromechanical products to satisfy customer needs as well as new product development. This position interfaces with Sales, Customers, Production and Planning teams, Machine Shop, external vendors, and other engineering organizations within Nordson.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
• Provide quotations for configurable and custom products, establishing appropriate pricing and component details
in SAP
• Design products in SolidWorks, including modeling, detailed machining prints and reference drawings, ensuring
manufacturability and application compatibility
• Release products to production through Nordson Release/ECR process
• Support production in the manufacturing and assembly of custom equipment
• Maintain product and company reputation by complying with required regulations
• Maintain liaison with individuals and units within and outside their organization with responsibility for acting
collaboratively on technical matters
• Contribute to team effort by efficiently completing required tasks
• Support other varied customer
Qualification
Associate degree in CAD/Drafting preferred
Experience
Minimum 5 years of experience, mechanical design preferred
Preferred Skills and Abilities
Ability to design and analyze components and complex assemblies for production using 3D modeling (SolidWorks)
• Knowledge of machine print detailing, reference drawing layout, and GD&T principles
• Familiar with operation of typical PC tools such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
• Knowledge of SAP is plus
• Should be resourceful in searching for and retrieving information from internal and external sources
• Excellent work ethic with consistent positive attitude
• Good organizational skills as well as data and information management skills for future retrieval
• Self-starting and detail oriented Working
