Senior Calibrations Associate

Job Summary:  

The Senior Calibrations Associate is responsible for the calibration and maintenance of critical instruments and equipment to ensure precision and compliance with industry standards.  This role involves performing routine and complex calibrations, troubleshooting equipment, and performing preventative maintenance on all laboratory instruments.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Calibrate or review calibrations for a variety of laboratory instruments including, but not limited to: High-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) HPLCs, dissolution units, Karl Fisher units, and environmental chambers. Performs and reviews routine maintenance and repair of laboratory instruments. Writes and reviews qualification documents for laboratory instrumentation. Updates and creates Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) concerning calibration and preventative maintenance activities. Request quotations from service providers and submits for approval Coordinates and manages scheduling of service provider activities. Maintains the calibration tracker to schedule calibration and preventative maintenance actives. Initiates deviations as needed for calibration failures or missed maintenance activities. Initiates change controls for equipment repairs and manage process through approval/closure. Completes Corrective and Preventative actions (CAPA) as assigned. Assists with the review of service contracts. Assists with supplier management activities. Other responsibilities and projects as assigned

Knowledge & Other Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, Engineering, or relevant technical school training/certification with a minimum of four years of related experience. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Outlook, and Excel.

Physical Requirements/Work Environment/Travel Requirements:

Position requires prolonged sitting, prolonged standing, balancing, stooping, bending, and crouching; the ability to push, pull, drag, and/or lift up to 20 pounds; normal manual dexterity and hand/eye coordination. The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; and extensive reading The worker is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions Will be required to work in a clean laboratory environment and wear personal protective equipment including but not limited to gloves, safety glasses or goggles, lab coats, and when applicable dust masks.
