The Risk function, headed by the Chief Risk Officer (CRO), forms part of the second line of defence. The responsibility includes forward-looking risk identification and management and monitoring of the Bank’s risk profiles and It is independent from the first line to provide challenge and oversight to ensure proper balance in risk and return decisions.

We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team.

Role Purpose

The role purpose is to support in implementation and subsequently provide stewardship for Traded and Treasury Risk Management (TTRM) in line with HSBC Risk Management Framework. It mainly covers both Treasury Risk (Capital Risk, Liquidity Risk, IRRBB (Interest Rate of Banking Book)), as well as the Traded Risk area ( market risk and traded credit risk).

In this role, you will:

• Support development and execution of a comprehensive and granular operating model for stewardship for HBCN TTRM team, working closely with various first line teams including trading team, Markets Treasury, Regulatory Reporting, Finance, and other risk teams.
• Engage with first line-of-defence stakeholders to identify and understand risks and controls.
• Own the relationship with Risk and Control Owners and oversight of regulatory reports.
• Engage, support, advise and challenge the first line-of-defence in carrying out their TTRM processes and activities for the countries and businesses within their remit.
• Provide review and challenge by attending appropriate first line-of-defence governance forums.
• Shape, review and challenge Risk Control Assessments.
• Ensure TTRM Risk and control issues and concerns are addressed at the relevant Regional Risk Control Management Meetings.
• Establish and monitor Key Performance Indicators, including reporting and Management Information into relevant governance forums.
• Shape and support the activities of the assurance team, and review and challenge the outputs from their assurance activities.
• Provide TTRM input and support into wider policies and processes that impact Regulatory Reporting.
• Work with regional/group risk teams pertaining to site TTRM work.
