Senior Career Specialist, Employer Engagement
**POSITION DETAILS**
The Senior Career Specialist, Employer Engagement is a new role in the Office of Career Development, responsible for developing employer partnerships to support the Business and Information Systems department. Students in Accounting, Computer Information Systems, Marketing, Medical Office Assistant, and Paralegal Studies enroll in a required internship course. The Senior Career Specialist, Employer Engagement Specialist will:
• Source new employer host sites
• Liaise with faculty and employers to align on student learning objectives
• Conduct site visits
• Collect feedback on student performance
• Expand employer partners to become hiring partners and advisory board members
The Employer Engagement Specialist will report to the Director of Career Development within Workforce Development and Continuing Education, which is part of the Office of Academic Affairs. This is an individual contributor role with specific targets to meet, while also proactively contributing to a highly collaborative team.
Typical Weekly Responsibilities:
• Meet with employers on Zoom, at events, or in other venues
• Work with the Career Specialist to coordinate and supervise student internships and job placements
• Develop employer agreements and onboarding materials
• Conduct site visits
• Present feedback from employers to faculty and staff on campus
• Organize and execute events for students and employers, both on and off campus
• Track and report outputs/outcomes in alignment with team goals
• Research and report on emerging best practices in community college employer partnerships
**This is a grant-funded position through June 30, 2026.**
**QUALIFICATIONS**
Bachelor's degree and four years of related experience.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Experience in business development with employers, particularly for entry-level jobseekers.
+ Demonstrated experience in partnership management.
+ Proven ability to operate autonomously and take ownership of tasks.
+ Strong track record as a diligent, organized self-starter who can adapt as needed.
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
**CUNY TITLE OVERVIEW**
Provides student career assessment and counseling and provides comprehensive career services programs.
- Provides employment and career counseling to students; may provide services to alumni
- Administers and interprets career and vocational assessment instruments
- Prepares and facilities workshops on career development topics such as job search strategies, resume and cover letter preparation, and interviewing techniques
- Develops and maintains relationships with employers that can lead to recruitment and hiring at the campus
- Assists with planning and presenting career fairs, speakers, employer visits, and other events
- Collaborates with faculty and student support service professionals to offer specialized programs and activities
- Trains and supervises interns and office staff
- Performs other duties as assigned.

**COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS**
**$52,276 - $90,375;** Salary commensurate with education and experience.
