Position Summary

The Fresh Financial Analyst is responsible for leading analytics for the department in support of delivering financial commitments through department strategies, initiatives, and P&L budgets. The Fresh Financial Analyst monitors, measures, and projects performance of various strategies, KPIs, and initiatives; further developing action plans to achieve goals and targets. This position is responsible for leading refinement analysis work for the department and partner with Category & Merchandising teams to improve results as required. This position will provide guidance and coaching to the CMP Analyst team.

Scope of R esponsibility

The Fresh Financial Analyst will collaborate with Department VP, Department CMP Managers and Analyst along with Pricing Leadership, Shrink Team, Finance Team, Strategy Group.

• Responsible for development of financial targets in support of department strategy & business initiatives
• Lead department budgeting and forecasting guidance work
• Develop financial targets including but not limited to sales, margin, vendor allowances, unsaleables, shrink, private brand growth, and tag counts.
• Develop and update projections/forecasting for sales, margin, and vendor allowances.
• Coordinate ROI and other financial analysis required to support SIG and initiative work
• Develop financial targets and projections for department promotional activity
• Department lead on net contribution tools and goals
• Prepare financial analysis in support of SIG initiatives

• Coordinate Monthly and Quarterly financial recap presentations as needed
• Perform financial trend analysis on key metrics
• Reconciliation of Department financials including weekly margin guidance
• Partner with IRI to manage key projects
• Provide guidance in support of business trends and strategic recommendations
• Promotional analysis

• Lead conversations with category and merchandising team to provide guidance as directed and coordinate actions to hit targets
• Provide timely status reporting
• Partner across departments and functional areas as needed to deliver on targets

• Develop refinement analysis per established crateria
• Lead conversations across category and merchandising to align on refinement action steps
• Work with functional groups such as Strategy Group, Shrink Team, etc. in developing refinement plans
• Prepare SIG updates

• Provide guidance to CMP analyst team in support of achieving department deliverables
• Participate in on-boarding and training of new team members

• Responsible to providing Department VP anyltics that support achievment of department strategy, iniatives and P&L deliverables
• Maintain appropriate communication points across Fresh CMP team
• Work cross functionally with teams such as Pricing, Shrink and Strategy Group
Basic Qualifications

• 4-6 years of experience in analytics
• Advanced knowledge of applicable practice areas, i.e., Fresh or Center Store categories.
• Fresh Categories include, but are not limited to: Produce, Meat/Seafood, HMS/Deli/Bakery
• Center Store Categories are considered any category not listed in Fresh above

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Mathematics, Accounting, Finance, Engineering or other related field, or equivalent work experience

• Proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook

• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications with a strong emphasis on Excel (macros) and PowerPoint
• Knowledge of MicroStrategy (DSS), MS SharePoint, MS Access, Essbase/Smart View, and/or SEGA (legacy IBM mainframe system)

Travel

• Occasional, 10% to 20%
