Job Summary:

This role will be pivotal in managing the procurement of transportation services to support the organization's supply chain operations. Key responsibilities include negotiating contracts, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring the timely and cost-effective delivery of transportation services. The individual in this role will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to optimize procurement processes, enhance service quality, and achieve strategic business objectives.

What will you do:

Managing and implementing the category strategy, policies, contract agreements, sourcing events, and special procurement activities.Identifying opportunities for cost reductions and quality enhancements, while ensuring the soundness of business proposals and conducting risk assessments.Serving as the liaison between the organization and suppliers, effectively communicating information while considering volume fluctuations and changes in the industry landscape.Documenting key performance metrics of suppliers and maintaining strong relationships with them.

Education Requirement:

Bachelor’s degree in procurement or related areaFluent English

What skills you will have:

Strategic Sourcing and Purchasing Activities:

Provides expert advice and consultation on solutions to complex transportation logistics challenges.Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of strategies for securing high-volume and cost transportation rates.Oversees the execution of all stages of the strategic sourcing process.Manages standard supplier agreements and procurement policies with standardized terms and conditions.Participates in complex strategic sourcing steps, including negotiations, contracting, and continuous process improvement and implementation.Consults on strategic sourcing methods concerning business relationships, inter-dependencies, and integration.

Negotiating:

Demonstrated expertise in negotiating contracts, prices, and delivery terms effectively.Ability to detail the risks of negotiation breakdown from each party's perspective.Skill in protecting own position while showing a willingness to achieve win-win outcomes.Proficiency in identifying similarities and differences in positions and assessing their impact on discussions.Capability to detect and address lack of progress or a stalemate.

Contracts Management and Administration:

Supervises the management and administration of a diverse range of contracts.Collaborates with the internal legal team on contract execution and best practicesProvides expert advice on practices and considerations for upgrading existing contracts and resolving complex contract management issues.Evaluates operational issues, commercial terms, and considerations in contract enforcement.Anticipates potential contract issues and manages risks related to legal matters.

Supplier Relationship Management:

Establishes and maintains credibility with clients and teammates.Provides guidance on the organization's supplier relationship management practices.Builds consensus, resolves conflicts, and applies techniques to influence and achieve impactful results with various suppliers in the organization's network.Conducts periodic reviews of work efforts, progress, issues, and successes in supplier relationship establishment and management.

Data Analytics:

Provides expert advice to stakeholders on the relationship between financial, performance, and operational data used in transportation analytics.Anticipates operational challenges in data collection and its integration with decision-making processes.Identifies correlations that reveal trends and determine market and business conditions.Evaluates the quality of collected data and the effectiveness of data analysis methods for assessing business performance.Interprets potential risks, threats, and opportunities within the supply chain network.Assesses the impact of rates on the organization's financials.

Effective Communications:

Adapts procurement documents and presentations to suit the intended audience, such as suppliers, internal stakeholders, or the broader global logistics team.Demonstrates both empathy and assertiveness when communicating procurement needs or defending procurement positions during negotiations.Communicates effectively with all levels of the organization, including suppliers, logistics partners, and internal teams.Employs appropriate methods of persuasion when seeking agreement on procurement terms and conditions.Maintains focus on procurement-related topics during discussions and negotiations to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
