Senior Category Manager Requisition ID: 42205 Job Location(s): Oragadam, IN **Job Description** Senior Category Manager Strategy Lead will be responsible for leading and coordinating strategy activities within the Castings & Forgings Category team and across sites of RAC Division. This role will focus on developing and implementing sourcing strategies accelerating cost-down impact from suppliers and driving sustainable savings pipelines. The ideal candidate will actively engage with other regional category managers and stakeholder, manage supplier relationships, and ensure compliance with Procurement policies and industry standards. This role will report to the Head of India Procurement, RAC Division. **Job Responsibilities** **Strategy Development and Execution:** • Lead and coordinate strategy activities within the category team of RAC division, if need network with other Danfoss Divisions/Segments for common suppliers • Develop and implement sourcing strategies for the assigned category, including dual sourcing **Supplier Management:** • Take full and proactive responsibility for supplier selection, qualification and performance, as “Supplier Responsible” for India region • Manage supplier relationships, including negotiations, pipeline updates, and drive supplier performance reviews. • Conduct spend analysis and segmentation to inform strategy and cost optimization. **Cost Competitiveness:** • Accelerate cost-down impact from suppliers by driving and executing a sustainable savings pipeline through Year-on-Year (YoY) Negotiations. • Set and achieve negotiation targets for cost savings. • Leverage cost driver knowledge to improve supplier efficiency and recommend dual sourcing **Stakeholder Engagement:** • Actively engage with key stakeholders from relevant Business Lines to gather business requirements and specifications. • Work closely with local and global stakeholders to identify needs and opportunities to deploy category strategy, reduce costs and improve procurement processes. • Act as a strong link between sites and category managers to align technical and commercial requirements. **Compliance and Risk Management:** • Ensure compliance with Procurement policies and industry standards, including Framework Agreements (FWA), Contractual Compliance, Payment terms • Lead escalation processes for supplier availability, quality, or compliance issues. Sustainability & ESG Initiatives: • Lead supplier engagement on sustainability goals, focusing on decarbonization and circularity. • Support the execution of ESG projects across the supply chain. **Background & Skills** • Bachelor’s degree in engineering • Minimum 15 years of experience in global category management, strategic sourcing, and supplier relationship management • Hands-on experience on Machined ferrous castings & forgings (steel, stainless and Iron) • Preference for multi-national organization and role experience • Strong analytical and negotiation skills. • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities. • Knowledge of industry trends and best practices in procurement and supply chain management. • Commitment to sustainability and ESG initiatives. **Danfoss – Engineering Tomorrow** At Danfoss, we are engineering solutions that allow the world to use resources in smarter ways - driving the sustainable transformation of tomorrow.
