What You Will Do

manage or assist in the technical aspects of specific CCRC assignments, within the agreed budgets and timeframe; be a subject matter expert and key resource on CCRC consulting; provide expert, timely, efficient and professional delivery of services to clients; build and maintain strong relationships externally with clients and internally with colleagues; attend client meetings and produce reports for clients; assist in the development and implementation of a marketing plan, including giving presentations and producing articles; support and perform high quality, focused and relevant R&D as required, within agreed budgets and timeframes; keep up to date with changes in the CCRC industry; maintain a high standard of technical knowledge and understanding and to disseminate this knowledge amongst colleagues and, where appropriate, clients; apply expert industry knowledge to deliver best practice as well as innovative and pragmatic solutions to complex problems; build and maintain an excellent network of contacts; attend client sales proposals and presentations; ensure appropriate legislative, regulatory, business and professional standards and processes are followed; manage effectively both your own time and that of any direct staff to deliver individual and group objectives; provide assistance as and when needed to actuarial students and less experienced colleagues.

What We Are Looking For

Professional Qualifications, knowledge, and experience

Essential:

At least five years of direct consulting experience (actuarial or other) with CCRCs and other organizations that own or manage CCRCs; Extensive knowledge regarding historical CCRC resident data and development of actuarial decrements for performing population projections; Extensive knowledge regarding the actuarial valuation (actuarial balance sheet) of CCRCs; Extensive knowledge regarding pricing of Type A, B, and C residency agreements for CCRCs; Extensive knowledge regarding GAAP accounting for CCRCs, including amortization of non-refundable entrance fees, the calculation of the “Obligation to Provide Future Services and Use of Facilities to Current Residents” (FSO), and other GAAP assets and liabilities; Experience in Business Development and Marketing; Proven track record of delivering projects on budget and to required timescales; Experience in managing and developing junior team members; Experience in working with Excel, Word, Access, Outlook and PowerPoint.

Desirable:

Experience with queries and programming in MS Access; Predictive analytics and data science experience is a plus

Preferred Qualifications

Actuarial credentials (ASA or FSA) are required for signing statements of actuarial opinion, but are not required for this position.

The Team

The Milliman Senior Living Team includes the CCRC practice. We assist CCRC clients with business strategy, pricing, financial projections, and with compliance and regulatory requirements.

This role is based out of the Milliman office in Tampa, Florida, but candidates hired into this role may work remotely anywhere in the US.

Compensation

The salary range for this role is $137,000 - $278,000, depending on a combination of factors, including, but not limited to, education, relevant work experience, qualifications, skills, certifications, location, etc.
