Senior CEI Construction Inspector

Your Opportunity

We are seeking a Sr. Construction Inspector, Transportation CEI Services, who will work under the guidance of a Construction Manager.  The role will be responsible for daily inspection efforts in order to verify and document the contractor’s work complies with project plans, specifications, and other contract documents.

This opportunity will be based in the Tampa Bay Area, first assignment located in Pinellas County.

Your Key Responsibilities

Inspection and documentation of contractor’s work for conformance with the construction documents. Conduct and document field evaluations and assessments. Monitor and document contractor’s work for compliance with project safety standards. Documentation may be required to assist in the management of claims and change orders. Track pay quantities for the preparation monthly contractor progress payments. Attend and participate in weekly project status meetings with the contractor. Prepare punch list. Monitor and document completion of punch list work.  Perform and document final inspections. Prepare red-lined as-built drawings. Perform other duties of a similar nature as assigned.

Your Capabilities and Credentials

Ability to read and understand plans and specifications.  Familiarity of FDOT publications including the Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction, Construction Project Administration Manual, and Inspector Checklists/Guidelists. Experience providing inspection of road and/or bridge construction projects. FDOT road and/or bridge construction project experience is preferred. Solid communication skills and work ethic. Excellent organizational and documentation skills.   The ability to work with limited supervision. Coordinating and managing junior inspectors. Basic proficiency in Microsoft (MS) Office Suite. Must have a valid driver’s license and good driving record

Education, Experience and Qualifications

High School Diploma/Certificate or equivalent in related field; or equivalent combination of education and construction experience.  Minimum of 8 years of experience in roadway and/or bridge construction inspection.  CTQP Final Estimates Level 1 CTQP Concrete Field Technician Level 1 CTQP Asphalt Roadway Level 1 & 2 CTQP Earthwork Level 1 & 2 CTQP Drilled Shaft Inspection IMSA Traffic Signal Inspector Level 1 FDOT Intermediate or Advanced MOT certification Nuclear Radiation Safety Florida Stormwater, Erosion, and Sedimentation Control Training and Certification Program for Inspectors and Contractors.

Position will primarily require working in a field environment which may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather. Position may also include travel for short-term assignments.
