Senior CEI Inspector
**This Opportunity** WSP is currently initiating a search for a **Senior CEI Inspector** for our **Tampa** office. Be involved in projects with our Florida Construction Management Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges. **Your Impact** Job Duties: + Interpret plans and perform independent technical assignments to ensure inspection and monitoring of construction activities performed on roadway and bridge construction projects. + Verify that construction activities are performed according to the contract documents, including specifications, plans, standard plans, permits, policies and procedures. + Perform materials testing using hand tools, gauges and/or instruments in accordance with Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) requirements and scope of services. + Use various engineering tools, equipment, instruments, and computers for performing technical tasks, problem solving and record keeping. + Maintain detailed accurate records of operations and significant events: Complete and enter Daily Work Reports into client's database. + Prepare documentation to validate payments to roadway contractors. + Monitor and inspect the Work Zone Temporary Traffic Control (device usage, installation/placement, and materials to ensure safe work zones). Review work site activities for conformance with safety regulations and take corrective measures when deficiencies are identified. + Monitor Environmental Permits compliance. + Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures. + Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs **Who You Are** Required Qualifications + High School Diploma. + Minimum of 5 years of relevant post education experience in discipline with prior construction inspection experience. + Knowledge of concepts, terminology and principles of road and bridge construction + Highly familiar with construction inspection principles, field inspection practices, process, methods and techniques. + Highly familiar with relevant construction codes, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements. + Sound interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to a technical and non-technical audience. + Sound self-leadership with attention to detail, accuracy, multi-tasking, and prioritization of responsibilities in a dynamic work environment. + Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, follow instruction, and comply with company policies. + Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as part of a team to meet business objectives. + Analytical mindset to exercise sound judgement in evaluating situations and making decisions. + Ability to effectively communicate (orally and in writing) and maintain good working relationships with contractors, utility companies, FDOT and others + Basic proficiency with technical writing, office automation, software, technology, spreadsheets, and tools. + Ability to provide input and feedback to others in the field such as subcontractors and work colleagues to consistently complete tasks safely, efficiently, and accurately according to specifications. + Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies. + Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek. + Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements. + Ability to work nights and weekends and be available for emergency response work as necessary. + Valid Class E driver’s license + Must successfully complete and pass WSP’s Motor Vehicle screening. **Certifications (must have or achieve within 3 months):** + CTQP Concrete Field Inspector Level I (level II required if bridges) + CTQP Asphalt Roadway Level I & II + CTQP Earthwork Construction Inspection Level I & II + CTQP Pile Driving Inspection + CTQP Drilled Shaft Inspection (required for inspection of drilled shafts including miscellaneous structures such as sign structures, lighting structures, and traffic signal structures) + CTQP Final Estimates Level I + FDOT Intermediate Temporary Traffic Control \#LI-MP1 **About WSP** WSP USA is the U.S. operating company of WSP, one of the world's leading engineering and professional services firms.
