Senior Central Region Process Engineer - (Full Time) Mississauga, ON
Primary Purpose
Reporting to the Area Manager, the Central Region Process Engineer is responsible for supporting the safe, reliable and efficient daily operation of Linde’s Air Separation and Carbon Dioxide plants throughout Ontario. The Central Region Process Engineer provides day-to-day technical support with emphasis on productivity improvements, process efficiency, and process safety.
Key Accountabilities
Champion Cost Reduction and Six Sigma Productivity Initiatives,Work to ensure consistent plant operations by monitoring and improving/resolving plant KPI inefficiencies,Provide technical expertise and assistance to resolve plant process operating problems (product recovery %, PP Bed operation, pressure drop issues, vent losses, purity issues, turbine efficiencies, liquefier efficiencies, cooling performance, etc.),Lead plant thaws and provide as-needed support for plant turnaround planning and execution,Provide process safety stewardship in areas of critical safety systems, management of change, pre-startup safety reviews, process hazards analysis, incident investigations, alert compliance, and alarm management,Champion and assist management of change programs for the various facilities,Promote a strong safety culture,Assist in the development and delivery of process training,Provide technical expertise to plant operations and instrumentation technicians,Propose and execute small capital projects,Lead or participate in incident investigations (RCA / RCI),Lead or participate in cross functional teams,Conduct equipment analyses as needed,Support continuous improvement initiativesLinde is a leading global industrial gases and engineering company with 2023 sales of $33 billion. Preferred 5 years of experience in engineering and production operations.Technical knowledge/experience in Air Separation and/or Industrial Gas plant processes and equipment including instrumentation and control systems would be a definite asset.Knowledge Skills
Proficient with PIDs, schematic wiring diagrams and instrumentation components (valves, analyzers, field sensors, PLCs, etc.)Possess strong technical skills including knowledge of practical application of Process Safety procedures such as PHA, MOC, and RCA.Must have a positive attitude, be willing to quickly adapt to changing situations, have strong communications skills, and a strong will to build and maintain productive relationships across departmental lines.Be able and willing to adapt to a work schedule that coincides with plant operational needs. Must also be able and willing to work for extended periods of time in an operating plant.Must be a self-starter and have the ability to work independently as well as to lead and participate on cross-functional teams.Willing to carry a laptop computer and cell phone for off-hours support as necessary. Must also be willing to travel (10-25% typical)Must be able to manage multiple priorities, drive issues to completion, and obtain results.Detail-oriented with an ability and desire to persevere.Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.Linde has an extensive background check process which may include but is not limited to, a criminal background review, pre-employment medical, reference checks, employment and education verification.
