Element Eagan has an opportunity for an analytical Senior Chemist to join our growing team. The Senior Chemist is responsible for working on moderately complex projects in support of client needs, utilizing established methods and procedures and laboratory equipment. Method Development, HPLC, GC, Titrations and troubleshooting are all requirements of this position, along with following EPA GLP regulations.

Responsibilities Develops analytical methods and performs testing using a variety of technologies including HPLC and GC. Is a proficient user in at least one chromatographic methodology, preferably HPLC, and is considered an internal resource in that area. Is proficient in standard laboratory bench titrations to analyze final product formulations.Executes complex, multifaceted analytical projects in support of client needs.Follows all safety requirements including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment.Generates client data and supporting laboratory documentation in compliance with company SOPs and Good Laboratory Practices (GLPs) regulations.Complies with all company SOPs. Initiates SOP change when warranted.Takes responsibility for lab instruments and sees to their care and upkeep. May be primary contact for significant external vendors. Communicates effectively with clients and colleagues through written and oral presentation. Is capable of leading technical discussions with clients.Implements new equipment, processes and methods independently, capable of conducting appropriate qualification and validation activitiesIs able to generate test methods and technical test protocols to GxP levels.Capable of working independently with only broad supervisionIs client focused as demonstrated by delivering projects in a timely manner with minimal errors. May be the main technical contact for a client project.Demonstrates expertise in the analysis of data, from the qualitative to the rigorously statistical, strong problem-solving and analytical abilitiesIs a qualified peer reviewerPerforms other related duties as assigned. Skills / Qualifications Typical educational requirements are B.S. or M.S. in Chemistry 5+ years’ experience, a Ph.D. with 2+ years’ experience or knowledge of analytical chemistry techniques demonstrated through a combination of industry and academic performanceKnowledge of analytical chemistry techniques demonstrated through a combination of industry and academic performance.Effective scientific writer (experience with report writing)Effective oral presenter (experience with scientific presentations)Effective time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlinesMust be a flexible, adaptable, self-driven team player with a positive attitudeExcellent verbal and written communication skills.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
