WORK LOCATION: This position allows for a hybrid / flexible work schedule with a mix of work spent on site at the Sargent & Lundy office in Los Alamos and working remote from home.
Sargent & Lundy’s Government Services Division provides cutting-edge engineering and consulting to the management and operating contractors for the US Department of Energy (DOE) and the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA). This is a mid-level design engineering position that offers a variety of challenging opportunities in Civil Engineering and will provide an excellent opportunity for career advancement.
Lead civil design engineering efforts on multi-disciplined project design teamProduce design drawings, civil analysis and calculations, procurement specifications and construction specifications (civil sections)Attend project meetings and perform field walkdownsMentor junior engineers Qualifications
Must be a U.S. Citizen; Dual citizenship with a country other than the U.S. does not qualify.
Essential skills and experience:
BSCE from an ABET Engineering Accreditation Commission-approved programPE License, or ability to obtain one (preference for having a PE license)Specific experience in drainage, grading/site preparation, stormwater prevention planning and retention, geotechnical characterization, and foundation design Five or more years of working in a project team environment in the design of industrial design projects or power plant experienceMust be able to obtain US Government security clearanceExperience working with and/or at Department of Energy sites and facilitiesExperience in preparing design drawings, engineering analyses and calculations, and construction, fabrication and procurement specificationsRequires periodic travel to Albuquerque and project locations for client meetings, walk-downs and presentations; amount of travel will vary depending on individual projects, but will likely averages of 3-5 days per monthSargent & Lundy is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
