Burns McDonnell is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer with related environmental experience to add to our growing Environmental Services global practice engineering team in Englewood, CO. We are searching for a self-motivated and experienced professional engineer to lead or support a wide variety of civil and environmental engineering projects in the waste and energy industries and contribute to implementing department strategy, vision, and culture.

The position offers the opportunity to practice in a variety of technical areas, including but not limited to waste infrastructure (solid waste management facility and coal combustion residual (CCR) remediation and closure), site civil design, hydraulic analyses and stormwater management, regulatory compliance, preparation of construction documents, and construction administration and management. The role will require technical leadership, business development, and mentorship of team members. The ideal candidate is engaged with clients and the engineering community in Denver, CO and the western United States.

The successful candidate will be committed to leading a diverse portfolio of projects, delivering technical and financial results, and developing new business. Specific responsibilities include the following:

Leading or supporting engineering teams to deliver well-coordinated, high-quality designs for civil or environmental engineering projects.Planning, directing, and monitoring all aspects of multidisciplinary with varying degrees of technical complexityPreparing documentation for design projects, including design criteria, technical letters, memorandums, reports, drawings, detailed design packages, and cost estimates.Providing strategic and/or planning services to clientsDirecting and reviewing work products prepared by junior engineering staff.Providing technical leadership and quality reviews aligned with experience.Project management duties such as developing and executing project scope, budget, schedule, quality, safety, and client expectations.Establishing client relations and involvement with marketing, contractual, management, and design meetings.Championing QA/QC procedures.Executing internal training for personnel.Other duties, as assigned.
