Senior Civil Utilities Engineer Job ID 6239 Location SLAC - Menlo Park, CA Full-Time Regular **SLAC Job Postings** **Position Overview:** SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory¿s Facilities and Operations (F&O) Division manages one of the world¿s premier science facilities for the United States Department of Energy. We occupy a 400 acre site, with 150+ structures, on land owned by Stanford University. We are a service organization committed to the support and success of the Laboratory's Scientific Mission by providing safe and responsive engineering, construction, operations and maintenance of equipment, buildings and infrastructure. We are seeking a Senior Facilities Civil Engineer to join our Civil Engineering team. In this position, you will provide civil engineering design, planning and review related to SLAC¿s facilities civil infrastructure systems and serve as program manager for these systems. SLAC¿s campus utilities include about 12 miles of domestic water lines, 8 miles of sanitary sewer with 16 lift stations, 17 miles of storm drain with 8 lift stations, 10 miles of cooling water, 8 miles of compressed air, 2 miles of natural gas and 5 miles of irrigation water. Examples of projects include system assessments and documentation and design of repairs or replacement for sanitary sewer, storm drain and domestic water systems. Tasks may include evaluation of overall system performance and operation, making recommendations for maintenance and repair of systems, as well as review and comment on consultant produced civil drawing and specification packages as a subject matter expert on large projects. This position is an employee of Stanford University, providing support to the Department of Energy (DOE) contract at SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory.
