ResponsibilitiesThe Senior Claims Professional will be responsible for investigating, evaluating, and resolving excess construction liability claims, with a focus on claims arising from violations of NY Labor Law, property damage, auto liability, and construction defect. The successful candidate will be able to assess coverage, investigate claims, and work collaboratively with other stakeholders to resolve claims efficiently and effectively in a supportive and inclusive environment.
Take ownership of investigating and evaluating excess casualty claims nationally in the in the construction industry.Handle construction defect, labor law, and auto liability claims.Communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders in a supportive and inclusive environment.Bring a positive attitude and creativity to maintain a collaborative and productive work environment.Interpreting and analyzing policy language and assessing coverage.Conduct thorough investigations, including site inspections, interviews, and document review, with attention to detail and a high level of energy.Establish reserves and make settlement recommendations based on the investigation with a focus on the most probable outcome given all available information.Work collaboratively with defense counsel, insureds, and brokers, to resolve claims in a positive and productive manner.Utilize negotiation skills and legal knowledge to manage litigation if necessary.Maintain accurate and thorough claim files and documentation, with a focus on transparency.Stay up-to-date on legal and regulatory developments that may impact claims handling, with a willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges. Works within Guidewire Claims Center (GWCC) for data information gathering and entry Qualifications Five (5)+ years excess construction claims experience, former practicing attorney, or equivalent experience.Effective problem solving (identifying issues and effective solutions) Sound decision making Commitment and dedication to job responsibilities Ability to adapt to changing job requirements Willingness to accept constructive criticism Strong organizational skills

• Base Salary Range: $90,000 – $130,000
• Eligible to participate in annual discretionary bonus.

The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment.
