Job Description:The Senior Clinical Projects Manager is responsible for managing initiatives under the Artificial Intelligence for Quality Improvement (AI/QI) program in the College of Medicine (COM) Quality and Patient Safety Initiative (QPSi).
The Senior Clinical Projects Manager facilitates workflows and processes to optimize the QPSi’s efforts in organizing and synchronizing the development, implementation, and evaluation of multiple initiatives under the AI/QI program. This program offers a mechanism for working with interdisciplinary teams to translate AI-enhanced solutions into clinical improvements. Through these duties, the incumbent will contribute to the College of Medicine’s goal of advancing innovations to improve quality and patient safety, with a specific focus on the application of AI and advanced analytical tools. These responsibilities require collaborating with partners across the college, university, and health system.

About This Role:
Project Development and Management
Lead in developing and implementing project management processes and methodologies to ensure AI/QI projects meet expectations, quality standards, and timelines. Promote stakeholder engagement and manage collaborations with stakeholders to inform the development and implementation of AI/QI project plans and help ensure projects have well-defined scope, goals and deliverables aligned with QPSi’s strategy. Manage updates to the QPSi tracking system for AI/QI projects and tasks, evaluating and advising on individual and team priorities weekly and quarterly, modifying approach(es) as needed. Participate in interdisciplinary team discussions and gather information to identify and add action items to project plans and follow-up with task owners to facilitate progress and update the workplan as appropriate. Effectively communicate with multiple stakeholders regarding project status, issues, risks, deliverables, and milestones. Serve as a team member, technical resource, and process facilitator on projects, providing analyses and contributing to idea development to achieve quality goals. Facilitate in translating clinical questions into action items for AI/QI projects and designing workflows to incorporate AI-driven insights into clinical and operational processes.Program Administration and Operations
Lead in creating and implementing systems to review and evaluate the workflows and activities of an interdisciplinary team to improve the effectiveness of the AI/QI program, enhance project management implementation and improve outcomes. Manage collaborative discussions with team members and stakeholders to define, document, track, and report on metrics informing on progress towards program objectives. Contribute to data-driven discussions to evaluate progress and drive decision-making to improve operational activities. Monitor healthcare trends and contribute to team discussions on program trajectory and value-added initiatives in healthcare. Collaborate with stakeholders and cross-functional teams, leading workgroups, focus groups, and committees to review, refine, and design program initiatives. Identify, facilitate, and implement priority activities to guide the AI/QI program towards strategic objectives. Assemble program plans, direct and monitor efforts, identify resource needs, and troubleshoot issues.Communication and Outreach
Advise on program advancements, communication strategies, and outreach. Develop reports and presentation materials tailored to different audiences (e.g., board members, executive leadership, frontline clinicians). Contribute to defining QPSi’s communications strategy by actively engaging in strategic planning and decision-making processes. Create and oversee outreach programs to promote QPSi initiatives.Special Projects
Support QPSi ad hoc projects including staff, intern and volunteer recruitment, policy and process development and implementation, and budget management as needed.About COM's Quality and Patient Safety Initiative (QPSi):

Expected Salary:$95,000 - $104,000 annually
Minimum Requirements:Master’s degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience; or a bachelor’s degree and four years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications:The ideal candidate will possess:
Hands-on clinical experience, a strong understanding of clinical workflows and care pathways, and the ability to optimize clinical operations. Demonstrated ability to collaborate across disciplines with a preference for experience working on projects with physicians and clinical staff. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a strong understanding of data-driven approaches to decision-making and a familiarity or interest in learning about AI. Experience with PowerBI reporting and visualization. Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills with the ability to influence and inspire across functional lines. Demonstrated experience working with various people at all levels of an organization. Knowledge of project management and quality and patient safety evaluation and improvement methodologies and programs. Must be self-motivated and comfortable working independently, as a team leader and member. High level of interpersonal skill, written and oral communication necessary to interface with various levels of management.
