What are my responsibilities?

Optimizing Energy Performance: Enhancing energy-saving capabilities for fleets of distributed energy systems (e.g., building load, solar PV, batteries) within a layered IoT architecture, balancing energy efficiency and robustness at scale.Implementing Advanced Automation: Developing and refining energy automation and monitoring systems through control algorithms, parameter optimization, forecasting, scheduling, and machine learning for adaptive modelling and system identification.Leveraging Digital Twins: Utilizing digital twins to validate system performance, conduct root-cause analyses for deviations, and derive actionable improvement suggestions for energy systems.Driving Scalable Solutions: Ensuring a balance between sophisticated algorithm use, data utilization, and engineering efforts to achieve scalable and robust operations across numerous small sites.Leading Development Lifecycles: Designing, developing, and maintaining performance-related software services, while managing their lifecycle from concept to pilot phase and large-scale deployment.

What do I need to qualify for this position?

EducationMS or equivalent experience in the related studies, PHD preferred Experience & Skills3+ years of professional experience as a Senior in the field of developing modelling, automation and optimization services in the distributed energy domain Professional experience with one or more of the following programming languages and deployment structures: Python, MATLAB, Go, Java, Docker, Kubernetes, Cloud environments, and familiarity with Unix systems Ability to develop and deploy production-ready code Ways of workingStrong motivation for decarbonization, with expertise in the energy sector as a plus, and a growth mindset for continuous learning and adaptation to emerging technologies.Comfortable with collaborative practices such as collective code ownership and pair programming, combined with a willingness to refine solutions until robust for field use.Positive problem-solving attitude, effective collaboration in multicultural teams, and the ability to persuasively communicate solutions and ideas.Flexibility for international travel when necessary.LanguagesProficient verbal and written communication skills in English, conversational German is a plus
