Overview

Hire Resolve’s client, an established media company, is looking for a talented Senior Cloud Engineer to join their dynamic team based in Cape Town. 

You’ll work extensively within the Google Cloud Environment, wielding tools such as BigQuery, Dataproc, and Vertex AI to transform raw data into actionable insights. We need someone with a deep understanding of data structures, adept software engineering skills, and a passion for turning complex data into stories that empower our business leaders to make data-driven decisions.

Responsibilities: Utilize Google Cloud tools to design and develop large-scale data solutions. Perform ETL operations and manage large-scale Restful Services. Implement high-level software engineering principles to organize, process, and analyse data. Collaborate with a team to streamline and automate data pipelines. Work with Python and SQL, while diving into complex datasets to uncover meaningful patterns. Assist in the development of big data systems that handle and organize vast amounts of data. Provide support for data-driven decision-making by developing compelling data visualizations and models. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Informatics, or a related field (preferred). 7+ years of software development experience, with expertise in Python. Strong command of both SQL and NoSQL database technology. Proven experience with ETL pipelines and managing high-scale Restful Services. Cloud experience in either Google Cloud Platform or AWS (Google Cloud preferred). Proficiency with Git and other source control systems.
