Paramount Tech is looking for a Senior Cloud Engineer to join the team! The ideal candidate will have expertise in Azure cloud infrastructure and AI-related services. This role focuses on architecting, deploying, and optimizing Azure environments, including Azure AI, OpenAI, and ChatGPT solutions to build resilient, secure, and intelligent cloud applications. Experience in AWS is considered a plus. You will collaborate closely with architecture and DevOps teams to implement security, improve performance, and drive automation across our cloud and AI ecosystem.
Responsibilities:
• Azure Cloud Infrastructure Design: Architect, design, and lead comprehensive Azure cloud infrastructure solutions, focusing on resources like Virtual Networks (VNet), Network Security Groups (NSG), Storage Accounts, Azure App Services, Azure SQL Database, Azure Key Vault, and Azure Active Directory (AAD).
• AI Integration: Deploy and handle AI models and applications using Azure AI services, including Azure Machine Learning, Azure Cognitive Services, OpenAI, and ChatGPT for language and vision capabilities.
• Deployment and Automation: Use Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with Terraform, Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates, and Chef to automate resource provisioning and enable steady and scalable deployments.
• Security and Compliance: Ensure the security and compliance of Azure environments by implementing Azure Policies, Azure Blueprints, Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), and standard processes for Azure Key Vault and AAD.
• Monitoring and Performance Optimization: Improve system health tracking, problem solving, and performance and cost-effectiveness using Azure Monitor, Application Insights, and Log Analytics. Continuously refine resource utilization, including scaling Azure AI workloads.
• Incident Management: Respond to and resolve Azure-related incidents, perform root cause analysis, and provide after-hours support as needed.
• Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of cloud configurations, policies, procedures, and AI-related workflows.
• Collaboration and Process Improvement: Assist other teams with deployment activities, resolve issues, and find opportunities for process improvement to streamline cloud and AI operations.
• Innovation and PoC Development: Conduct Proof of Concepts (PoCs), research and onboard new Azure AI technologies, and innovate to enhance our AI capabilities.
• High Resiliency Solutions: Develop and deploy highly resilient architectures that mitigate potential failures across regions and availability zones, focusing on fault tolerance within Azure.
• Reusable Orchestration Modules: Create reusable modules (e.g., Terraform modules, Chef scripts) to streamline deployment processes and support developer self-service.

Networking and Security:
• Active Directory, DNS, Domain management, Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), Azure Key Vault.
Monitoring and Incident Management:
• Azure Monitor, Application Insights, Log Analytics, basic networking skills.
• Data Formats and Automation Tools:
• JSON, YAML, Wiz (for security and compliance management).
Basic Qualifications:
• 10+ years of experience in Windows environments, including support for Active Directory (AD), DNS management, Domain management, and Windows applications.
• 5+ years of experience in a cloud environment, with expert-level knowledge in Azure cloud resources, including VNet, NSG, Storage Accounts, App Services, Key Vault, SQL Database, and other Azure-native services.
• 5+ years in designing and supporting various web-based solutions.
• 5+ years of experience with Terraform in production, developing reusable and modular configurations for Azure infrastructure.
• Familiarity in AI and ML model deployment using Azure AI services, including Azure Machine Learning, Cognitive Services, and OpenAI/ChatGPT.
• Proficiency in Python, Bash, or PowerShell for scripting and automation.
• Demonstrated expertise in Azure security practices, including Azure Policies, RBAC, Azure Key Vault, and AAD for identity and access management.
• Familiarity with AWS (basic understanding of EC2, S3, RDS) is beneficial, though not required as a primary skill.
Additional Qualifications:
• Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
• Experience with datacenter-to-cloud and cloud-to-cloud migrations is a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new tools and technologies and adapt to changing project requirements.
• Experience with Azure DevOps for CI/CD pipeline management and GitHub for version control.
• Familiarity with Oracle Cloud environments.
• Knowledge of configuration management tools (e.g., Chef, Puppet).
• Advanced experience with Azure Monitor, Application Insights, and Log Analytics for comprehensive monitoring and problem solving.
• Understanding of CI/CD philosophy and agile methodologies.
• High-level abstraction and problem-solving skills, with the ability to challenge the status quo and suggest improvements.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Hiring Salary Range: $125,000.00 - 140,000.00.
The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York City, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement. This position is bonus eligible.
