Senior Cloud Engineer
**Job Description** _This position follows our hybrid-friendly schedule, so you get the best of both worlds – flexibility and collaboration. In office days will be 2-3 per week averaging 10-12 days per month._ **Job Summary:** Raymond James is looking for a Senior Cloud Engineer to assist with supporting an AWS and Azure multi-cloud environment. You will be responsible for creating and implementing cloud-based systems tailored to the organization's need, implementing and managing security measures to protect cloud infrastructure and data, deploying, debugging, and providing support for cloud systems, and ensuring that cloud systems comply with company policies and industry regulations. **Responsibilities:** + Develop, and deploy cloud-based infrastructure as code using CI/CD pipelines. + Regularly review existing systems and make recommendations for improvements. + Interact with cloud stakeholders, provide cloud support, and make recommendations based on cloud stakeholder needs. + Write and/or review system specifications, including output requirements, flow charts and technical diagrams. + Troubleshoot incidents, identify root causes, fix and document problems, and implement preventive measures related to cloud infrastructure and applications. + Demonstrate exceptional problem-solving skills, with an ability to see and solve issues before they affect business productivity. + Understand complex cloud native architecture in AWS with minimal assistance. + Automate processes using infrastructure as code within an AWS cloud environment. + May occasionally work a non-standard schedule including nights and/or weekends and/or have on-call responsibilities. + Contributes to a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement. + Communicates blockers and delays before they require escalation. + Document "as is" and "to be" processes and describe the changes required to migrate to the "to be" capability to record accurately the change required. + Design and select business-critical networks, servers, storage, and virtualization applications to design cloud solutions in line with industry best practice and provide a third-line point of escalation for appropriate global cloud service delivery infrastructure solutions. + Review existing operations in a major area of work and implement innovation processes to generate new ideas and ensure the required continuous improvement outcomes are delivered. + Document "as is" and "to be" processes and describe the changes required to migrate to the "to be" capability to record accurately the change required. + Develop own capabilities by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching; gain or maintain external professional accreditation, where relevant, to improve performance and fulfill personal potential. Maintain an in-depth understanding of technology, external regulation, and industry best practices through ongoing education, attending conferences, and reading specialist media. **Skills:** + Minimum of 3 years AWS experience. Azure experience is a plus. + Experience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g., CDK, Cloud Formation, Terraform, etc.) + Experience with Git based source code management tools + Experience with Agile / Scrum planning tools (GitHub, Azure DevOps, Jira, etc.) + Experience with Splunk or industry leading security information and event management (SIEM) tool. + Experience with AWS security services: CloudWatch, Security Hub, KMS, Inspector, Guard Duty, Config, CloudTrail. + Preferred certifications: AWS Solution Architect Associate or AWS SysOps Administrator Associate. Microsoft Azure Fundamentals is a plus. + Experience with Linux (Ubuntu, Redhat) covering virtual machine deployments and image builds. + 2+ years of experience with Python development or object-oriented programming + Demonstrate an understanding of core AWS services, uses, and basic AWS architecture best practices. + Demonstrate proficiency in developing, deploying, and debugging cloud-based infrastructure using AWS. + Demonstrate proficiency in developing, deploying, and debugging cloud-based infrastructure using AWS. + Ability to use the AWS service APIs, AWS CLI, and SDKs to deploy infrastructure + Demonstrate proficiency in developing, deploying, and debugging cloud-based infrastructure using AWS. + Ability to write code using AWS security best practices. + Experience in Agile/Scrum + Uses comprehensive knowledge and skills to work independently while providing guidance and training to others on developing appropriate plans or performing necessary actions based on recommendations and requirements. + Uses comprehensive knowledge and skills to act independently while guiding and training others on maintaining the security, integrity, compliance and continuity of IT systems and services. + Applies comprehensive knowledge and skills to work independently while providing guidance and training to others on creating relevant, lucid and effective reports. + Works with full competence to manage, prioritize, and track the achievement of the tasks on the backlog.
