Job DescriptionThe Senior Cloud Engineer works with a team of skilled staff to create and execute cloud computing strategies by designing and developing technical systems, with specific expertise in Azure Cloud Services. They oversee deployments, configurations, and management of all cloud-based systems, applications, and infrastructure. They are a technical resource to IT Service Desk, Systems Engineers, and other IT departments sharing responsibility for the day-to-day maintenance and support of the company’s global infrastructure.
The Cloud Senior Engineer participates in a variety of cross-functional team projects, including the planning, design, and implementation of new/updates to existing Cloud components, authentication, and end user/endpoint security.
Engineering and Administration
System architecture and engineering of cloud infrastructure and cloud applications, including but not limited to Azure Front Door, Azure app services, Azure storage solutions, Azure virtual machines, Azure synapse, Azure Databricks, Azure network solutions.Analyzing and managing cloud costs to ensure cost optimization and maximum use of resources.Developing strategies for migrating existing applications, data, and infrastructure to the cloud with minimal disruption. Ensure all environments are kept current and consistent to increase reliability and quality of continuous integration and deployment efforts.High availability and disaster recovery capabilities to minimize downtime and maintain business continuity.Leverage the latest cloud technologies and services to drive innovation and maintain a competitive edge.Provide necessary documentation for all applications and systems.Provide off-hours support, as needed, to support product updates, equipment upgrades, and address technical issues.Maintenance & Projects
Monitor Cloud Services, Systems, Network to ensure optimal performance.Applying security patches and updates to cloud infrastructure to protect against vulnerabilitiesEvent Response – respond to and report systems failures and security eventsInfrastructure automation including cloud deployments, orchestrating workloads using tools like Terraform, Ansible, and Azure Dev Ops, and creating scripts and templates to automate repetitive tasks and improve efficiency.Off Hours response and support for High severity incidentsMaintain technical documentation for solutions and standard operating procedures such that services are delivered in an efficient and effective manner.Recommend and perform cloud configuration adjustments to solve problems. Communicate effectively, verbally and in writing with people at all organizational levels.Work in a team environment making positive contributions to the organization.Establish and maintain effective relationships with staff members, customers, and vendors.Other duties as assigned or required.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in computer science or related/applicable field(s) is preferred, or relevant work experience in lieu of required 3 to 5 years of experience as a Cloud Engineer running mission critical applications/infrastructure in a public cloud, including hands on experience with at least one public cloud provider: AWS, Google Cloud or Microsoft Azure1 to 3 years of experience as a Senior Engineer, performing design, implementation, development and support of infrastructure componentsStrong understanding of network topology, LAN, WAN, and SD-WAN configurations. Working experience with security/compliance requirements including PCI, SOC, and NIST framework.Knowledge of ITIL and Project Management processes.Demonstrated success in developing and deploying enterprise-level solutionsStrong organizational and problem-solving skillsExcellent analytical and communication skillsThe ability to travel as required (<10%)The US national base salary range for this position is $112,231- $140,289. This position is also eligible for a bonus. The base salary range displayed reflects the targeted hiring range for positions across all US locations. Individual pay is determined by job-related skills, work location and relevant education or experience.

Work Environment
Most positions located out of our global headquarters in Bloomington, MN will work a hybrid work schedule where you will work 2 collaboration days a week. Additional in office time may be required to support team/project needs. Positions will be identified as “remote eligible” when consideration will be given to candidates outside of drivable distance to our Bloomington office.
