As a Senior Cloud Engineer at Boston Mutual, you will be responsible for leading the design, implementation, and maintenance of our cloud infrastructure, ensuring high levels of availability, performance, and security. You will collaborate closely with the Cloud Application Architect and other IS Leaders to develop and deploy scalable cloud solutions, automate processes, and provide expert guidance on cloud best practices. Additionally, you will monitor and optimize cloud resources, manage incidents, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to drive operational excellence within the organization. The Senior Cloud Engineer is expected to: + Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and application deployment using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, and Azure DevOps. + Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) best practices to ensure consistent and reproducible environments. + Serve as a Cloud DevOps subject matter expert, driving innovation, and sharing knowledge across the team + Design, implement, and administer Azure environments that support our mission-critical enterprise systems, ensuring system stability + Manage and optimize Azure cloud services and infrastructure components. + Participate in cross-functional teams, functional and project team efforts to evaluate technology solutions to meet the needs of the business and fit within the technology architecture vision of the organization, including vendor assessment, technology platform selection and retirement, prioritization, and integration. + Standardize and automate security controls within Azure Entra environments. + Collaborate with Technical leadership across the enterprise, including continuously building and enhancing foundational cloud capabilities, process simplification and automation, and delivering end-to-end cloud deployment processes. + Develop appropriate level of design diagrams and corresponding documentation to create dependable artifacts for supporting the BML Cloud environment. + Partner with the Cloud Architect in the design and implementation of new Cloud capabilities. + Collaborate closely with the Application, Data Analytics & Infrastructure team for the deployment of new and existing applications, fostering cross-functional teamwork + Create and update supporting documentation for processes and Cloud automated tools, promoting standardization and knowledge sharing. + Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in cloud computing and DevOps. + Support and mentor team members on cloud Infrastructure best practices. + Serve as a strategist and continuously refine our cloud deployment practices for improved reliability, repeatability, and security. + Monitor and maintain Azure resources **.** This includes setting applicable monitoring thresholds and alerts, and ensuring appropriate events are logged and alerting IS leadership to cloud performance cost anomalies. + Proactively monitor and ensure cloud optimization practices are being followed with a focus on balancing costs with business priorities and ensuring system performance while responding to alerts promptly to meet or exceed high availability goals. + Assist in developing and executing Infrastructure hosting and migration strategies for systems both on-premise and in the cloud including the development of solution prototypes to prove out value and reduce risk. + Be a trusted advisor to the company, collaborating closely with both the business and technology teams to ensure alignment in implementation with the intended solution design as well as desired business outcomes. Qualifications Education: + Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or related discipline. Experience: + 10+ years infrastructure architecture and development experience designing and deploying scalable, secure on premise and cloud-based solutions. + 5+ designing and supporting Microsoft Azure / O365 infrastructure + Planning for system and application migration(s) to the cloud, adhering to BML technical and business requirements + 5+ years of developing Infrastructure as code (IaC) in Terraform + Planning and developing support processes that adhere to best practices (NIST) + Developing and documenting technical designs for integration and implementation of new cloud applications and systems + Working with both technical and business stakeholders to define requirements, creating detailed documentation and crafting estimates and roadmaps for implementation. + End-to-end solution and implementation definition and documentation. + Experience creating deployment strategies with accurate time estimates and risk assessments. + Strong knowledge of serverless & Container services. Ability to deliver cloud-based infrastructure utilizing infrastructure: + Good understanding of cloud security and cloud native services. + Proven experience in automating tasks and workflows in an Azure environment. + Proven experience in developing automation scripts and managing large, mission-critical enterprise systems. + Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to implement solutions with a focus on improving system reliability and efficiency. + Proven experience deploying Azure PaaS Services such as Azure Data Factory, Virtual Networks, Azure Databricks, Storage Accounts. + Solid understanding of cloud infrastructure components (network, compute, storage, load balancers) and how Infrastructure should best be leveraged. + Experience developing systems to support data analytics and business intelligence + Demonstrated ability in project solution estimation and project definition. + Network configuration and systems admin experience on a public cloud platform (Azure). + Demonstrate an ability to design our Azure infrastructure for high availability, back up, disaster recovery, etc. + Experience working with monitoring and alerting technologies. Certifications in one of more major cloud vendor: + Azure – MCSE: Cloud Platform and Infrastructure (Infrastructure Focus) (preferred) + Azure certifications (e.g., Azure Administrator Associate(AZ-104, DevOps Engineer Expert (AZ-400) (preferred) **Hybrid Work Model** At our Canton location, employees will be on site Monday - Thursday starting 5/1/23. At our Omaha location, employees will be on site 2 days per week.
