Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented Senior Collections Specialist responsible for the reconciliation of assigned customer accounts with open balances, collection of invoices, and submitting adjustments to correct billing errors. The role involves communicating with customers to request information, collect outstanding balances, and prepare lien releases for payment processing. You will assist with resolving issues related to field, dispatch, billing, and management processes, ensuring smooth collection operations.
Responsibilities
•\tReconciliations of assigned customer accounts with open balances and the collection of invoices.
•\tSubmitting adjustments to correct billing errors, communicating with customers to collect outstanding balances, and reporting on reconciliation and collection status for assigned accounts.
•\tDevelop relationships with customers to facilitate the collections process and prepare lien releases.
•\tAssist in resolving any issues related to field operations, dispatch, billing, and management that affect the collections process.
•\tDuties also include processing credits and adjustments for invoicing errors and answering customer inquiries or collaborating with an assigned analyst to resolve issues.
•\tAd-hoc projects as needed.
Essential SkillsHigh School Diploma or Equivalent.3 + years of AR/Collections experience, preferably in the construction industryDetailed knowledge of invoicing and billing adjustments.Ability to research customer claims, disputes, and problem situations.Excellent oral and written communication skills.Experience with preliminary notice and conditional vs. unconditional release processes; highly preferred.Strong analytical and organizational skills.Experience in MS Excel, Word, and proficiency in typing and 10-key by touch.Ability to manipulate data in a heavy volume spreadsheet environment.Experience in negotiating with customers and resolving difficult situations.Experience with Account Receivable and Customer Service software packages.Ability to communicate effectively and tactfully with individuals at all levels.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $40.00
