The Deal Desk team are the strategic advisors/partner to Thomson Reuters Go-To-Market functions/teams, facilitating the deal structures and requests that our clients demand which fit into TR strategy. It drives scale within the Go-To-Market functions, allowing Sales to focus on selling, while creating efficiencies, profitability, and enables effective governance. The Deal Desk Senior Commercial Consultant will be an expert in our policies, processes, and systems. They will advise, coach, and train Sales Reps on a day-to-day basis to efficiently work with TR sales processes, and policies. Additionally, each Deal Desk Senior Commercial Consultant will be expected to lead initiatives to improve our processes, and/or systems.
About the Role
In this opportunity as a Senior Commercial Consultant you will:
Serve as the go-to trusted advisor for the Sales/Business Segment teams for solving complex commercial problems, enacting deal strategy through the deal process. Coordinating and leading the deal execution through internal process and systems.Serve as an expert in advanced Deal Desk activities for complex/strategic deal structuring. Lead ongoing and month end reporting as well as other activities to drive data driven decisions.Educate Sales teams on changes in processes, policies, and best practices to improve performance of the sales cycle, releasing Sales capacity to core sales activities. Lead projects with cross-functional teams in support of executing selling activities, in the rollout of new/enhanced product releases and policies, and in the improvement in processes Ensure governance is in place so that Sales teams are operating within the Rules of Engagement and Commercial Policy. Working directly and partnering with cross-functional teams to drive effective governance for TR and its policies.Understand end-to-end processes across OTC and serve as an expert on the roles and responsibilities of cross-functional support teams, resulting in accelerated resolution of issues.Identify, scope, and deliver process and systems/automation improvements in operations for the Sales cycle.Work in a dynamic environment and adapt to new business processes/practices/standards. Serves as a coach and mentor to other team members, assisting with onboarding, day-to-day training, coaching, and collaborating to solve commercial problems. Take ownership and program manage issues that are barriers to closing deals effectively, drive resolution across all back-office teams.Demonstrate the ability to go “above and beyond” in the support of our sales cycle and clients. Flexibility to transition into different support roles within the team based on the needs of the business is required.About You

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience4+ years of professional experience in a client facing role.Preferred Qualifications & Attributes:
Experience across the sales cycle, customer contracting, leading/managing complex projectsBackground in SaaS and content products, commercials, contracting and sales cycles.Proven track record in supporting RFP’s and contracting with US government & its related agencies, selling is a plusExcellent interpersonal and communication skills Excellent partnership skills and proven track record working across different functional groups, in different regions, across cultures where face to face opportunities is minimal.Ability to learn quickly, adapt in a dynamic and collaborative environment. Ability to work in complex matrix environment within a team or as a single contributor.Strong business acumen, organizational, time management skills and attention to detailAbility to effectively evolve the status quo and enhance working practices.Focus on delivering and executing against agreed OKR’sComfortable with change and an ability to thrive in a fast-moving environment. The base compensation range for the role in any of those locations is $70,500 - $130,900. Chicago, IL; Frisco, TX; Houston, TX; fully remote location. For these locations and any eligible US locations not otherwise noted, including for fully remote location if applicable, the base compensation range for this role is $74,200 - $137,800. This role may also be eligible for an Annual Bonus based on a combination of enterprise and individual performance. Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual’s knowledge, skills and experience with consideration given to internal equity. Base pay is one part of a comprehensive Total Reward program which also includes flexible and supportive benefits and other wellbeing programs.
