We are assisting a leading design and build contractor focused on innovation, sustainability, and excellence, providing advanced solutions to address the increasing demand in the delivery of Data Centre projects in the Nordic Region. The need now exists for an experienced Senior Commercial Manager to oversee multiple projects across the region, managing budgets, contracts, optimising procurement, and ensuring financial performance aligns with project objectives and has extensive expertise in construction commercial management, particularly within the data centre industry.
Key Responsibilities & Requirements:
Oversee the commercial management of multiple data centre projects across the region, ensuring alignment with financial targets, budgets, and timelines.
Manage project budgets, cash flow forecasts, and financial reporting, providing accurate and timely financial insights to stakeholders.
Lead contract negotiations and administration, including drafting, reviewing, and executing contracts with subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors.
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and procurement teams to define and manage procurement strategies that align with project goals and cost-saving measures.
Identify and manage project risks, working proactively to resolve contractual, commercial, and cost-related issues.
Conduct regular financial reviews and cost analyses to optimise budget control, manage variations, and ensure adherence to financial constraints.
Lead value engineering efforts to identify and implement cost-effective solutions while maintaining high-quality standards and project specifications.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, subcontractors, and suppliers, ensuring effective communication and alignment of commercial objectives.
Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, standards, and contractual obligations throughout the project lifecycle.
Degree in Quantity Surveying/Commercial Management.
12+ years of experience in a commercial management role within construction/engineering, preferably in Data Centre projects.
In-depth understanding of construction contracts, risk management, and financial planning principles.
Strong financial acumen, with experience in budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and cost control.
Proven negotiation skills and ability to manage complex contract negotiations and conflict resolution.
Proficiency in commercial management software and financial tools and project management software.
Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment.
