Senior Commercial Underwriter
Description We are in search of a Senior Commercial Underwriter to strengthen our client's team. The primary function of this role is to manage customer applications, maintain accurate records, and address customer inquiries within the commercial real estate industry. The position is based in Freehold, New Jersey area, and operates in a formal workplace setting. Responsibilities: • Accurately and efficiently process applications for commercial real estate loans, including fixed-rate mortgages, bridge loans, construction financing, mezzanine loans, and preferred equity. • Maintain precise records of client accounts and their respective credit information within our CRM system. • Collaborate with clients to provide guidance on the best available loan options, considering their unique financing needs. • Monitor and manage a diverse portfolio of properties, including multi-family, mixed-use, office, retail, and industrial buildings. • Take proactive action on customer accounts as necessary to ensure optimal loan structures, competitive rates, and flexible terms. • Resolve customer inquiries in a timely and efficient manner, ensuring a high level of service. • Negotiate loan terms and conditions, drawing on strong negotiation skills and industry knowledge. • Develop and maintain a wide network of resources, including CMBS lenders and banks. • Ensuring timeliness and efficiency in processing loans to guarantee successful closing transactions. • Contribute to the team's commitment to professionalism, strong negotiations, and personalized, boutique-level service. Requirements • Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, or a related field is required • Proficient in using CRM software to manage and analyze customer interactions and data • Extensive knowledge and experience in handling industrial properties • Demonstrable experience in dealing with mortgages, including assessing, approving, and managing mortgage loans • Ability to effectively evaluate the risk and potential profitability of loan applications • Proven track record of making sound decisions based on a thorough understanding of the commercial underwriting process • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively manage client relationships • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously • Excellent analytical skills, with a focus on detail and accuracy • Comprehensive understanding of financial statements, tax returns, and business legal structures Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
