The Senior Commercial Manager is responsible for developing and driving overall commercial strategies and business growth in FSS channels in Japan, by providing strong leadership and partnership with Global & Regional teas, Brands, Corporate Marketing, RDDC, VM and Online team, aiming to build the Japan Commercial team as an extension of the brands and acts as a trusted, corporate business partner. Key accountabilities (but are not limited to) 1. Commercial Strategy and Execution · Partner with Global & Regional team, Brand(s), Corporate Marketing and Online team to develop overall Commercial strategies regarding FSS channels for the market · Identify and validate new & non-viable distribution opportunities for the Brand(s) and ensure execution are efficient and effective · Determine KPI on achievement of sales targets, key business issues, opportunities, education plans · Keep abreast of market landscape, commercial trend, local consumer behaviors/preferences and competition to identify distribution and commercial opportunities · Understanding of sales drive KPI such as traffic, AUS, and conversion. · Networking with real estate developer to obtain the information of candidate area and location · Having the interest for upcoming neighborhood in Tokyo and Osaka area · Creating NDO (New Door Opening Proposal) to get approval from APAC / Global Team collaborating with JP brand team · Having the knowledge of Store P&L to maximize store profitability · Creative thinking on the brand positioning to be in line with brand strategy · Maximize Enterprise’s interest by influencing our retailors on terms such as Floor renewal group negotiation, New door open negotiation, Counter location change negotiation, Door closure negotiation etc 2. Store Operation · Training and leading the BA & Soul to achieve the business goal · To understand the complexity of Le Labo store operation, such as fresh blending service · Observing the current store operation to optimize the process (POS system) 3. Commercial Education · Localize Global Commercial Education with local consumer and market needs · Conduct Commercial Education Schedule and ensure effective Education delivery by managing asset & Tools / content and training materials, as well as tracking progress · Provide regular training on brand agnostic knowledge and skill for BA/external sales stuff (Class event/online education) · Consolidate Voice of Customer and deploy them in organization 4. Retail operation · Responsible for store operation governance by providing insights on store efficiency (tracking sales per area, per capita etc), governing customer data acquisition operations at door, conducti D/S system governance (CUBE, Report Manager) to ensure consistency with internal tools · Plan and implementing operational procedures across channels / brand(s) following global/regional guideline (e.g. the way to enter each building, FSS store opening and closing etiquette, prohibition of sales, Technology contact etc) · Manage local tools for Retail operations and partner with IT and Regional Retail Ops team to improve infrastructure and new technology for POS 5. Omni brand strategy · Partner with key stakeholders to develop omni brand strategic across omni channels (goals, where to play, how to win, required capabilities) · Determine KPI on overall customer journey for customer communication thru these channels; demanding forecasting; as well as develop omni marketing calendar to meet these goals Others · Provide leadership and guidance to grow and upskill team members · Achieve KPI including but not limited to: NOP, NS, Retail Sales, Market Shares for FSS/Top door Qualifications Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience Proficiency in both Japanese and English Degree holder preferably with related industry experience with experienced managing FSS / Retailer.com counterparts. Results driven with strategic mindset, with proven record in creating commercial strategies with achievements Communicates expectations and can relate to a range of people. Knows how and when to adapt communication style to audience, culture, and objective, e.g., when to be directive and seek discussion and input Knows how to get buy-in and build a network of support. Finds ways to overcome opposition.
