Senior Commodity Manager – Carmel, IN

The Sr. Commodity Manager, Electronics, is responsible for the financial and operational performance within assigned direct material categories. This position will report directly to the Commodity Management Leader and effectively communicate market conditions to Allegion Senior Leadership related to assigned categories.

What You Will Do:

Performs negotiations and determines most competitive solutions, using a wide degree of creativity and latitudeResponsible to meet productivity and inflation targets and mitigate inflation impactFocus on achieving annual objectives in a complex, growing organizationDetailed understanding of assigned categories and associated raw material marketsDevelops and implements comprehensive strategiesEffectively communicates the strategy throughout the organizationAddresses supplier performance issues with a sense of urgency and able to manage complex commercial relationshipsDevelop risk mitigation plans and lead supply risk management activities, including resolution of major supply disruptionsEnsures quality requirements and corrective actions are implementedExecutes contractual agreements with key / preferred suppliersAble to create new or unique T&C's in collaboration with Legal to protect Allegion interests (working knowledge of intellectual property, indemnification, and liability contract language)Proficient in aligning cross functional teams to implement strategies across multi-location / regionsAbility to construct value stream maps and utilize financial modeling techniquesDemonstrated ability to execute cost reduction sessions with internal/external stakeholders to eliminate non-value add activitiesConducts regular Supplier Business Reviews with key suppliersHas a good understanding of Best Practices within Supply Chain Management and Strategic SourcingExpertise in developing "Should Cost" and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) models including non-monetary benefitsEffectively mentor and teach procurement conceptsKnows the high-level global implication of Market Condition changes and how this effects assigned categoriesGlobal Awareness: Familiar with International companies and business practices to support domestic and international supply agreement development

What You Need to Succeed:

Ability to travel up to 30%Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering or related field5+ years of increasing responsibility in the areas of Strategic Sourcing, Materials Management, Operations, Quality, Engineering, or related fieldProficient in the use of all Microsoft Office products, particularly MS Excel (e.g., excel pivot tables, macros, etc.) and PowerPoint Strong business acumen and analytical thinking, as well as supplier management and contract negotiation experienceExcellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate and influence at all levels of the organizationMust be a strategic thinker and have demonstrated experience driving complex strategies and projectsExperience in the development and management of a global supply base is preferred
