As a Senior Communications Advisor, you will play a key role in our ability to deliver what we promise to our customers.
The ideal candidate will have a combination of public relations, advocacy campaigns and political/policy communications experience and will be responsible for developing, executing, and measuring strategic communications/public relations campaigns aligned to the company’s business goals.
There are two prime objectives for the Senior Communications Advisor:
Lead internal and external communications on behalf of the company in response to employment issues Shape the narrative that supports our efforts to engage our workforce, ensure they understand the business environment and objectives, and become advocates for the company.Candidates must be highly skilled thinkers, writers, and doers who will partner closely with leaders from our Human Resources, Communications, Public Affairs, Legal, and Manufacturing functions. They must be comfortable developing and executing strategic advocacy campaigns for a wide audience, from the board room to the shop floor. We are seeking a dynamic professional who is results-driven and is adept at moving from strategy to execution, who can operate with autonomy, works well under pressure, and has proven strength in building strong cross-functional relationships with senior leadership and matrix partners.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Strategize, execute, and meticulously refine a tailored public relations strategy to enable business objectives regarding employee issues and engagement. Conducting environmental analysis of current landscape on relevant issues. Providing insights, ideas and solutions to support key policy initiatives and shape thought leadership initiatives. Develop and implement crisis communications strategies specific to employment matters for the company. Produce high-profile media relations activities in a range of mediums, including TV, radio, podcast, traditional print media and social media, in both proactive and reactive situations. Craft powerful and impactful messages or talking points and deploy content strategies for target audiences. Determine campaign resonance, effectiveness and next best actions. Help business stakeholders appropriately assess risk of decisions and prepare for different scenarios and outcomes. Write clearly and concisely on a range of complex, research-based topics for a variety of audiences and platforms (i.e. press releases, media alerts, op-eds, blog, social, etc.) Maintain a deep understanding of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in public relations in order to provide thought leadership and drive innovation.Basic Qualifications:
10+ years of experience working in public relations/crisis management, political/policy communications, public/corporate affairs, or media relations Experience in a manufacturing environment a plus Bachelor’s degree in public relations, communications, political science (or related field) required. Experience in crisis, issue and/or reputation management and issue monitoring including the development and optimization of crisis management tools including crisis plans, scenario playbooks, risk assessments, crisis simulations, etc Demonstrated ability to establish strong and collaborative working relations with internal stakeholders to anticipate issues before they arise and collaborate with business stakeholders to appropriately assess risk of decisions. Prepare action plans to manage these issues Help business stakeholders appropriately assess risk of decisions and prepare for different scenarios and outcomes Familiarity with AI tools and a broad suite of social media platforms, including X, Snapchat, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, and others Knowledge of data and analytics capabilities to augment issues management response Evidence of keen insight into the integration between business and communications’ objectives Exceptional writing, editing, and presentation skills, with a strong attention to detail. Ability to write for a variety of audiences across multiple communication channels and vehicles Ability to skillfully manage multiple projects, deadlines and deliverables Experience working in a global, deadline-sensitive environment Tact and discretion to work with confidential information and colleagues at all levels Independent problem solverEOE / Disability / Veteran
