Job Title: Senior Communications Specialist
Location : Huntsville, AL (On-Site)
Canvas is seeking a Senior Communication Specialist to support communicating information through verbal, written and electronic media to convey key strategic messages for the organization.
Duties:
+ Responsible for writing articles, conducting interviews for public affairs products/outlets.
+ Drafting and producing social media products.
+ Assist with design/content production of external website and internal knowledge site.
+ Supports branding and production of communication materials and exhibit content
+ Provide support for presentations and tours.
+ Foster and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of government personnel and contractor workforce.
+ Prepare and review information material for dissemination to various publics for conformance to Army policy.
Requirements:
+ Bachelor's degree in a communication related field; *Experience may be substituted for education with customer concurrence.
+ Minimum 5 years of experience in a related field
+ Ability to analyze data and generate insights to inform communication strategies
+ Excellent collaboration and relationship-building skills, with a high degree of cultural awareness
+ Ability to think creatively and strategically to develop innovative communication solutions
+ Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
+ Ability to write clear, concise, and engaging content with excellent grammar and editing skills.
+ 10 years of experience in a related field; prior experience working in a government Public Affairs Office; preferably Army Familiar with AP Style writing Some travel Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance (desired)
Security Clearance: Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
