Senior Compensation Analyst

The Senior Compensation Analyst under the general guidance of the leader of Total Rewards assists with the planning, implementation and administration of daily functions associated with compensation policies and programs. Conducts wage verifications, completes salary surveys, performs job analysis to ensure that the organization is market competitive. Evaluates existing guidelines and policies with responsibility for making recommendations that are consistent with best practices and are compliant with regulatory requirements. Partners closely with Talent Acquisition and Department Managers to communicate the evaluation process including new requests, timeline to deliverables, and FLSA regulations.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Education:       Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Human Resources, Finance, Economics or another related field required. Master’s preferred

Experience:     2+ years of experience as a compensation analyst strongly preferred. Experience in analytical role that required research skills and the ability to generate reports.   5 years of experience preferred.

 

Skills:             Knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research methods, HR laws, regulations primarily FLSA and best practices. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, predominantly Advanced Excel (Pivot Chart and Table; VLookup), Word and PowerPoint.

 

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer with repetitive movements. Must be able to lift 20 lbs. as well as bend and move boxes.

           

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION:

Conducts compensation market reviews: Reviews job descriptions prepared by department to ensure that the summary of primary responsibilities accurately reflects the work being performed and that FLSA exemption regulations are adhered to. Assesses job based on respective duties to determine classification and salary range. Aids with interpreting survey market data and benchmarking jobs to data to ensure compensation is competitive. Gathers data from market-based compensation surveys; uses spreadsheet and data analysis techniques to assess results and market trends. Responsible for coordination and submission of compensation surveys.     Devises and administers contemporary pay programs Advises on market competitiveness of pay strategies Manages and administers incentive programs Administers limited physician pay programs and contracting Administers Executive Compensation pay program and incentive structure under the direction of the CHRO/CEO Manages relationships with survey vendors. Maintains current knowledge of survey methods and processes. Prepares and maintains job classifications and salary scales. Involved with annual and quarterly HRIS updates. Prepares and presents summary reports of job analysis and compensation analysis information. Oversees and administers day to day of HRIS systems in accordance with the leader of total rewards. Communicate position compensation changes to appropriate parties. Manages RN wages and bonuses maintaining compliance with the NYSNA contract. Conducts data and cost analyses to be used in collective bargaining agreements. Tracks, monitors, and administers retention bonus programs. Works closely with Talent Acquisition Specialists and Recruitment/Retention Advisors to review and recommend compensation rates for newly hired or transferring employees. Maintains knowledge of HR policies, procedures, and philosophies that relate to compensation and ensure adherence. Conducts salary audits (annual payroll testing). Serves as the lead for state required reporting Prepares documents for IRS reporting requirements in area of expertise Familiarity with employee benefits and how they leverage total compensation. Maintains a high level of confidentiality to protect employee privacy, while providing access to authorized individuals and entities, and safeguards the integrity of electronic information.Performs other duties as assigned.

Salary Range:  $27.52-$41.27/hour                   Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
